i had the xcel guy out (electric and gas) he said that the meter was leaking from the main shutoff, he greased it and worked it, and now no more leak! yay! bet it was his easiest job all day.

i have big limbs from some of the trees. i would like to make a fence, or just a section of fence, but i dont think i have enough to do it the way that i want. so instead i think i will strip off the outer branches and use the big sections as edgings for pathways.

Do the branches have to be from certain types of trees to make a fence ?
Or can any tree limbs make a fence?

it depends on the type of fence. for a wattle fence you need flexible branches for the weaving bits, like willow or hazel. i have willow, but im rehabbing it, so its off limits as a wood source, except for the dead bits. i could do a stacked zig-zag, but the branches arent particularly even, or straight. i could cut it down into sections the height of the fence/ border i want, and mount them to a horizontal branch or board behind them, or do long horizontals and short verticals.

lots of options. i really want to do wattle, maybe in a few years.

no more big limbs...matter of fact...the spots I shaved off the maples this winter are all leaking sap all over the place below the cuts....I put buckets under the drips because they are dripping the same as the taps I put in

I have 9 taps....ran out of copper and I ran out of buckets but I can fit 2 or maybe 3 more on the bigger trees

went out and bought a Rubbermaid that holds 140 liters and its 1 quarter full

gonna start boiling again tonight or tomorrow

grass is pretty easy to work with. you can make very basic, and fairly sturdy rope from grass. i tested it last year, we didnt get around to mowing until it was 1.5 feet tall. oops. but i made about 2 feet of rope, we used it as a dog toy. baskets are probably easier than making rope in some ways, and harder in others.

I'm sure there are patterns to make baskets ....they are really nice I want one but would rather have one that I made than purchased....just need some grass :)

I have never had maple syrup soo fresh that it just came from a tree....

I make these almond joys candies using unsweetened coconut ..coconut oil and real maple syrup and then you top with dark chocolate and almonds ...

A healthier way to eat the candy almond joys

What are grits? I'm picturing oatmeal or something... I've heard of grits, but only from black standup comedians, grits and soooul food :D

I've always wanted to try chicken and waffles, that shit just sounds right... the syrup gets all over the chicken, why don't people put syrup on chicken?! That'd probably be so good... Maybe people do.. Maybe i'm missing out here! I need to try this...
