    grits are coarsely ground corn.
    when it comes to breakfast and porriges
    oats = oatmeal,
    wheat= cream of wheat,
    corn= grits/polenta.

    they are cheap and filling, and they stay good for a long time.

    i do butter, salt and pepper, and i normally top mine with 2 fried over-easy eggs, so the yolk runs in and mixes. you can add whatever you like though. sometimes i add in onion and garlic, and form the cooked grits into a tube (wax or freezer paper) then you can refrigerate, slice and fry, almost like a hashbrown.

    worcestershire would probably go good in cheesy grits. ive never gone sweet, but i dont see why not to.

    Grace and I went for a walk in the cemetery. Beautiful day. As we were starting to drive out I accidentally interrupted a Red Tail Hawk eating his dinner. He flew up into a tree until I drove past but I stopped and just kept looking at him. BIG BIRD! I am sure he went back to his dinner after we left.

    never heard of scrapple

    California has a way of changing names of stuff and then claiming it lol

    I knew I had eaten grits but the porridge thing didn't sound right.....now I see you can fry them....fried grits is what ive had before

    I have 1 huge stump left to cut and burn...its the axis of the Y piece in the tree and its so heavy I couldn't topple it over with my car and a rope.....need to topple it over so I don't have to cut sideways

    Place of origin Italy, France, Switzerland Main ingredient(s) Yellow or white cornmeal, liquid (water, soup stock)
    Polenta (Polente or Poleinte in France) is cornmeal boiled into a porridge,[1] and eaten directly or baked, fried or grilled. When cooked, it has a warm jelly-like soft inside with a crunchy outside. The term is of Italian origin, derived from the Latin for hulled and crushed grain (especially barley-meal). It comes from the same base as "pollen".[1] Maize was not cultivated in Europe until the early 16th century.[2]

    I never really liked oatmeal or porridge so I dunno about grits... I don't like how filling and heavy it is, but I guess that's what other people do like about it! That flavored quaker oatmeal stuff is pretty good though... apple cinnamon or whatever, nomnom..

    I had bacon today... and now every other food just fails in comparison.. Maybe tomorrow I will like grits :D

    And btw, as a Canadian....... Wtf is up with Canadian Bacon? I never knew what that was until McDonalds and now I see it everywhere... That shit is ham not bacon... "We're having bacon tonight" I get so excited and wait for dinner... then I see slices of fried ham... :mad:

    Someone trying to sell me the books for a course I'm taking in the summer for $200, says she spent $300 on them last year. I tell her that they would cost $202 with tax, brand new, and she keeps her price at $200. Says that I'm still getting a good deal since they cost her $300. I bet I hear from her in a week looking to sell for less.

    Tell me about it, I can't believe how little comes in a package, I don't even understand the purpose of it... I always have to make 2-3 packs, I don't buy the stuff though... I rarely ever eat it, it's usually like a last resort thing.. When the cereals gone and i'm to lazy to make real food lol

    I dunno about the bacon thing though... I never heard of it until I worked at McDonalds for those few months... They call it Canadian Bacon there, it's a disgrace to real bacon... I believe it's Canadas worst contribution to the world lol I hate ham but love bacon... As you can see this is very conflicting

    "Bitch you know I'm all about that Peach Apple Walnut"

    i use those packets, on occasion, as a special treat. however, i only use one packet, dumped on top of plain oatmeal. that way you get the flavor (which is way more sweet than it needs to be) and you get a full tummy for less money.
    i usually do a little brown sugar and maple syrup in my home-flavored oatmeal though, so its not really that much different, just easier.

    When you google Hipforums the sub categories that pop up are Love and Sex Forum, Real Kinky, Free Love Forum, Lesbian, Oral and Anal Sex Forum... I never acknowledged that before...

    I've come to the thought... Have I been posting on a sex forum all these years without even realizing it? I feel kind of weird being on this site now :D
