i dint even want to talk about wasteful spending. i told hubby i will make an effort to reduce my sugar consumption, if he will make an effort to reduce his alcohol consumption.

should result in both of us living longer. i will have to stop drinking coffee in the morning, i put less sugar in my tea, and tea can be sweetened with other things. i need to get some stevia plants going, then i can have my sweetness, without the side of diabetes.

sounds like a Sherman Tank outside. /bulldozer/ but after being in the army, being around that sound and no recoil percussion sound after is kinda creepy. like that thing is just creeping around out there, just waiting to fire a round..

I want to show this next little bit of information to the whole world-wide web BUT for reasons that will become clear, I want/need to do this "anonomously". I figure here is as good a place to start as any.

    I don't want to start a thread about this...because well, I just don't. :)

The schedule for my work is posted with everybody's name and the hours they work beside it, broken down by day and at the end of each day is their total number of hours worked that day. simple, yes?

My schedule as it appears but written across, rather than down...

    Sun - 16:00 - 22:00 / 5 hrs 30 min
    Mon - 15:30 - 23:00 / 7 hours
    Tues - 15:00 - 22:00 / 6 hrs 30 min
    Wed - OFF
    Thurs - 14:00 - 23:00 / 9 hours
    Fri - 14:45 - 21:30 / 6 hrs 15 min.
    Sat - 18:00 - 22:30 / 4 hours

Does anybody see the discrepancy? It took me a bit...my excuse was I so flipped out to see only 1 day off, I didn't really look...

They took away 30 minutes fom the scheduled hours ALL days but the one where I'm scheduled to work 9 hours.:bobby:

We are supposed to get a 30 minute break; but, in the past 3 months that is a joke and you NEVER EVER get a break every day you work. So, they didn't even pretend I would get a break on the day I'm scheduled for 9 hours. yay for that teeny bit of honesty, eh? lol

I know why they did this...so that when they added up their daily hours, I wouldn't have overtime. :2thumbsup:

They said I was scheduled for 38 hrs 30 min. They should get their incorrect time right...its 38 hrs. 15 min.

The REAL time scheduled is 40 hrs 45 minutes. The time that counts on my payroll are the time slips I get every time I clock in and out, which everyone can be reassured that I keep every one.
    _____________

And last night my 5 1/2 hrs were 6 hrs 18 minutes. :p

I don't think work schedules ever figure in the pay/salary for the thirty minutes for lunch

A work shift is scheduled for 8 1/2 hours yet you only get paid for 8 because of thirty minute lunch

Just to add: I am not ready whatsoever to lose this job.

History has proven to me that nosiree indeedy I cannot just "go out and get anther job". If I really say much about it, complaining rightfully that they are scheduling me too much, too many hours, and I know how they are...It will not bode well for me in this job.

In the past I've even heard both the head manager and her 2nd in command blame/claim the other one made out the schedule. I've heard lots of people have different problems with their schedule...just not this particular problem.

What a smarty pants move this was...and people like me...older people that want (need) money, they have us (me) by the short ones. :D

But that's ok...things work out in strange ways.

that is messed up. if they dont want to pay you overtime they shouldnt schedule you for it. you could contact the labor board, but you would probably lose the work in the process of being a squeaky wheel.
some say the squeaky wheel gets the grease, in this day an age, the squeaky wheel gets replaced.

you are exactly right WW. I/we have to clock out during the rare moment we get a break. But the thing is, we are not getting breaks.

So...like last night - when I was scheduled from 4 til 10, they should have shown I was scheduled for 6 hours, not 5 1/2 hrs. (which I turned out working 6 hrs 18 minutes, no break)

just make sure you check your scheduled hours, against your actual hours, and your pay stub. they could be just hoping you dont notice.

Yes I would turn in every minute that you work and expect to be paid for it....

They keep working you without breaks that is against the law
