Oh, I promise you...should I wind up working 40+ hours this coming week, they best pay me for that amount.

Their time shows me working 38 hrs 15 mins for the week...even though I was told by 2 managers it was 38 1/2 hrs...and another somehow added up 39 hours.

The hours I'm scheduled to work, according to their schedule is 40 hrs 45 min. Last night, I already worked 48 minutes more than their daily total says.

I talked to by brother about it late last night, who is actually very wise about such things, via the internet. Anyway, to say much (or anything else) is to risk my job is basically what he said, and I agree.

Unless I have a plan B and/or am willing to lose the job...I will be quiet...I think.

 

You could always become a undercover reporter Lynn and blow the lid off the McDonald's for overworking their employees ...not paying ....and not giving breaks ...and become the next giraldo and start your own talk show

By letting several of them know I know this schedule isn't right, they can expect that if I work this godawful dadblame schedule, I will be paid.

I do draw the line there.

Even with the sorry good for nothing laws in the state, it is illegal not to pay you for hours worked.

About the breaks...I've wondered about that.

For some reason, I think they don't enforce rules about breaks in restaurants, or again, its like yeah...you can complain and get a break...but we will and can fire you in this state if you complain about not getting a break.

 

We just had some shit go down in BC over McD's hiring only temporary foreign workers and exploiting them.

there has been a LOT of turnover just since I started, and most of it was people quitting...

 

I can easily see that happening...

In this state, there is a Big Deal about having 2 legal documents when they hire you and you sign several papers. You have to have a valid social security card and either a driver's license or state ID.

Down here I think it would just be too hard for an illegal to obtain these things, just to work at McD's. The practices for hiring in other states and Canada is probably not as involved as it is here.


I truly hate to admit that the place that I finally, at long last found a job and initially loved, is like it is.

 

The workers were all paperwork legal - they just didn't tell them they had any rights.

Got my motor out.its apart waiting for its new crankshaft.the crank was junk like i though.oh well,gonna be good as new.so fuckin excited!
