Yeah, you'd probably like your HPPD a lot less if you were a driver.
Bright days can be a real bitch. Sky doesn't have to be sunny or blue, snow and a white sky can be just as bad, just along as it's bright, it can trigger what I call the Sky Wub.

The perma-snow field is manageable. Only thing it really negatively impacts is my night vision, which is zero. But Sky Wub...It's not always there but when it hits, it is super duper distracting and I'm almost always driving when it hits.

the three ounces of shrooms I could believe as they are non-toxic, you would be pretty fucked up, but won't die, probably not be able to keep 'em down anyway.:puke:

47 beers, maybe depending on your tolerance to alcohol, but doubtful. :p

I did a stupid amount of acid as a teenager.
Not an 'I ate a whole bottle' stupid but consistent intake of a decent quantity over the span of a few years, sometimes daily, kind of stupid.

well if HPPD is what you say it is, then 1) i guess i was wrong. maybe the visuals don't have to interfere with your life to qualify as HPPD.

and 2) although i was never diagnosed with HPPD, i did have significant visual effects while sober, through a portion of my psychedelic use. i believe it was mostly due to 2ce, although i did take LSD during the same time frame.

2ce seems to have earned a reputation for creating HPPD more readily than other psychedelics.

i took LSD years before 2ce, and i still continue to take LSD a couple times per year. i haven't taken 2ce in about a year, and it's been several years since i used to eat it once or twice or more each month. my "HPPD" has pretty much gone away i think

the visuals i got would be mostly "movement" or distortions in my peripheral vision. it was like i would think i saw something that wasn't really there, but it caused me to turn and look some times.

it occurred often, but each "episode" was only like a couple minutes from what i remember. sometimes if i focused on it, i could sorta "make it happen."

This sounds like some pretty normal peripheral phenomena.

Congrats, you are not HPPD! :sunny:

There is a suggestion that HPPD also comes with anxiety disorder and such. I can't say for sure if my own issues are linked to HPPD or just general nature/nurture reasons. The science seems to not be in on this yet. I'll remain skeptical on the mental effects until I see something that looks legit.

I've got a floater in my left eye that I haven't noticed in a long time (part of the eye breaks off I think from blunt trauma) from when a shell casing hit me in the eye years ago (no lie, not my bullet either :/)

Everyone has a little visual snow, the optic nerve and the whole central nervous system actually does deal with a lot of noise but our brains are pretty good at picking up patterns out of it (the signal to noise ratio is kinda low I think compared to most electrical systems)

Only near the center of your retina is where you can see in high detail (the fovea)...this is why we always have to move our eyes to scan the environment to build up an image of the external world. The peripheral vision is pretty pretty poor in details but is much better in picking up motion and seeing in low light.

I may act like I'm not paying attention or don't see but trust me I'm watching (just not directly) ;)

And I'm not looking at you either, I'm looking past you! :p. (@ the sign behind you)

The visuals I get that i believe to be HPPD are as such:
Things appearing to be morphing, or stretching infinitely. Colors are off some days, sometimes brighter, sometimes duller. Sometimes things look almost cartoonish. Other days it's the opposite, thing's look too real. That's the best i could describe it. Sometimes things just look distorted. There's too many variations of the distortions for me to list them all.
But I wouldn't ever want to get rid of these. They remind me of my best trips, and remind me that there are other perspectives you could look at in any situation.
