Yeah, oddapple, forcing anything on me without my consent and aware agreement is a real issue for me, too.....whatever it may be or about.....Makes me think evil things when anyone tries it....

I agree some people do simply tell others for the sake of it rather than to make sure there is no meat or animal by-products in anything they are purchasing, though there is also the fact that when someone does find out you are vegan, they are suddenly a nutritionist and will try and concince you that veganism is no good for you. I would like people to keep that to themselves as I don't try and force people into not eating meat :)

Agreed. I have lots of people ask about it. I advise them to seek out healthy, successful vegans to consult and to approach it gradually. No malnutrition = no problem.

The first time he popped around the door with a great big pair of white framed sunglasses and a lei around his neck and all his funky beach looking gear he prit near freaked me out. I laughed and he said, "Damn, yer not a kid, oh well, we're here for a good time anyway" he has a goofy laugh and when I hear him go into rooms with kids they are glad to see him. This kind of guy would also have a nice bedside patience for kids so he is my kinda guy, rather then one who walks in and says "open up wide!"

I don't really care if you want to pick your nose or your teeth....was just being funny...I would look away, if I must....no big deal about that.

I mean aren't there more important things to be really concerned about?

No, he wasn't doing it for my kid. Of course he was trying to seduce me because I clearly like wacky guys. Joking. It just seemed like a gimmick he does for all the kids, my daughter wasn't buying it, she gave him a "wtf look" and was scared. All the people I've met that have a donald duck impression down have been creepy. How would I expect people who deal with children to act? Hm..just be sincere. She saw a different doctor at that office last month and Iliked him a lot. He put a giant sticker on his nose and he was goofy and seemed sincere and I started cracking up and so did my kid..

Agreed, I only like to see Sea food on the plate, not See food sloshing around in the flopping open mouth in front of me. And I hate the smacking noise some people make when they eat.

No, I don't mean a mouth piece to convince them. I mean a person that can show them how and help them make their conversion. They're convinced enough. They need the knowledge and conversation of someone who has been there awhile and knows the way. We lack that because the only dieticians teaching vegan are vegan themselves and would probably get fired for teaching it in the secular health care setting. Dieticians that quote the food pyramid can get the hell out of my door back to the loser pile. Dieticians that can build successful food pyramids are most welcome.
Like it or not, people are going to be going more vegan anyway. Therefor, the better knowledge of it now and building a private pro base of coaches seems timely.
The "common core" trash class CODEX "dieticians" that will come out of the woodwork will be legion because they will get funding.

I unfortunately only know one long term and very knowledgable vegan so I cannot refer them :/ I am only still a 'newbie' vegan and I still love researching about it.. I just generally don't tell many people to avoid the argument all together. Any information for helpful sites you could provide would be appreciated though :)

There are so many ways to die, ultimately I don't see veganism as a bad option.People are always saying "you can't eat this" you "can't eat that",I can understand why some people just cut out the crap and go vegan. It certainly simplifies things.I try to eat healthy and keep my meat consumption very moderate, and do eat fish, but I see veganism as taking a stand which I do admire, even though I am not yet at that point of becoming one myself,I would certainly give it some consideration.

I would not be able to go vegan even if I was gonna go ten fold healthy to what I do now. Too many things I like that I would miss. Mind you everything in moderation. I only eat a cookie after I sleep, eat, have coffee and sex, oh and after I watch TV, play on the net,,, so ya, nothing too bad about that.
One could be like Nuns, eat meat only on Sundays, hahahaha.

I too have this conflict between my hedonism and my puritanism.

Appreciated. I am held to a wisdom deal that states "the carnivores shall not berate the herbivores, neither shall the herbivore condemn the carnivore" - the only thing that matters to me is whether they went cross-eyed or exploded because I sent them down the cow chute instead of to someone that actually had "non-parrot" comprehension in life's most basic thing. People can be healthy on next to nothing if they know their nothings and what goes with it. Likewise, we see mongos look like they ate two juggalos and have morbid malnutrition. I myself am mostly "antidotes and make up fors" owing to laziness and self indulgence ie most of what I consume is for the deficit of what else I have.

Anyone who takes an ideal stand over their or others well being may need to rethink lest they darwin out and there be no one left to promote the ideal. Earth and life are a fluctuating event between discrepancies, not a fixed struggle for either extreme, ideal or practical. Practically speaking, if we really are going to have skyrocketing food prices and decreasing public benefits, we're back to "knowing your nothings" aspect because we have seen the rapid effects of malnutrition real-live in this country before and the damage lasts generations. This time though, there will be six people instead of two in the room (so to speak) owing to the triple or more population we have now. The okinawan word for food means "medicine for life".

No. I don't want any seafood right now or feel comfortable recommending it because of labelling here. Whatever our country can't sell to someone else they try to dump off on us and buyer beware.
