bigotry and the worship of automobiles and money would seem to me to fall into the catagory of the title of this thread.

Here is my own personal opinion:
Do not keep ANYTHING to yourself around me. I want to hear EVERYTHING on your mind. And I want to know everything about you. Go ahead and tell me, all of it. Ill sit there and listen. =P

Funny thing I always noticed about myself is how so many people say shit like, "hey I saw (insert name of friend here) in the paper for speeding/drunk driving!". Hell when things like that come up in my mind I understand how people have the urge to gossip but im like a brick fucking wall. So yea, people pour their personal shit to me because... well... they know im like talking to a brick fucking wall. I wont share it with any of my friends or family that we know... though I will mention it anonymously on websites like this where no one knows me or them personally. I guess this brick wall trait I have comes from my old job. Had to keep so much confidentiality. Cant discuss shit about patients.

I had that same issue with my work place, not for patients but for sensitive material. I made the mistake of slipping one little thing and lost my security pass for two weeks, not bad you think but it meant I couldn't work where I was supposed to and had to work on less desirable places for that time. It was shitty but I look back now and laugh because all I did was sluff off and fool around.
It was kind of like a break from the every day stuff but I was happy to get back where I was meant to be. It made me pause and think before letting anyone have anything I knew and I still think before letting go. Tis why I can't get along with gossiping types and meddlers. I tend to tell peeps who say "But don't tell anyone,,," to hold that thought and let it slip out somewhere else. Some peeps tend to take offense to my actions but I don't care, less I know about others the better for me.

    Christianity....

If I wanted to hear that shit or read it in my facebook feed, I'd go to church. Why does this demographic feel they need to "enlighten" everybody that doesn't share their view?

It might be less of trying to enlighten, and more of kissing the behind of a floating, white, bearded guy.

I've always thought that it's not so much 'What' but 'How' people keep things to themselves = "To thine self be true" however, Have a bit of tact, courtesy and diplomacy when it comes to hard truth ... that has consequences!
