open carry - because the obvious threat you can blow everyone away gets you to the head of every line
and the submission of everyone present

Especially in the Trayvon Martin case. An unarmed 16 year old kid you stalk and YOU feel threatened? And WIN?

We've had open carry in my state since ... well forever. Nobody I know or ever seen anybody open carry except one person about 20 years ago. Everybody thought he was a nut. We have the law yet nobody really feels like they want to be encumbered carrying around a loaded pistol in daily life. Can't say the same thing about concealed carry guys though. They seem to have something else to prove.

Exactly the problem with "Stand Your Ground" law. Kinda hard to disprove when the only other witness is dead and as we see the law can be manipulated so as to get away with murder.

Exactly. It's every KKK neonazi gun-toting members' dream come true.

There is no more KKK really. Just some costumed freaks who'd piss themselves if they had to face real people without a police escort. But even when they were at their 20th century peak most Americans didn't support them at all. They were a narrow sliver of the population.

A gun is a machine. There is no specific type of person who chooses such a machine. They are as diverse as most of humanity. Trying to compartmentalize them into such a narrow band of humanity is selling the rest of people short with no consideration.

We have coyotes every so often. Most of the time a single shot into the ground scares them off. The only one I ever killed was trying to remove my dog's leg. I never shot a gun thinking about race. GJS

It's simple really. Florida is a republican state. And the governor is a major ass wipe that doesn't care about what anyone thinks unless it's one of his cronies.

    Here, firearms are tightly regulated.

Unhappy that easy purchase climate in other places means more illegal weapons arrive here .

    Illegal weapons are the problem.
