    Hey, I just wondering what the name of the wax is. is it just 'batik wax'

    batik wax is a blend of two waxes: sticky and regular old parafin.
    good ol' Dharma trading carries the two as separate (so you can control crackle by mixing your own) or as a pre blend.

    beeswax and parafin have worked well for me

    I've almost always used craft store beeswax... comes out the easiest....
