Why don't you just say...I'm not that into the phone...why don't you email or text me?

I just had to call my mom to ask a question for my wife. It turned into "Ask her if" back and forth. After about 3 question I was like...oh jesus christ...I'm going to just let you talk to her. I hate doing that shit. They are still talking on and on. At least my mom and my wife are pretty tight.

your apostrophe in the thread title moved 6 letters to the right.

i've never used "i'll call you back" as an excuse to get off the phone. if i HAVE to go now, i'll say so and why. if i'm just sick of talking, i just stop talking and whoever i'm on the phone with with generally get bored pretty quick and hang up. if i'm getting another call or something quick like that, i'll say that i'll call back, and then i do so.

this laptop has the mousepad positioned in such a way that when typing very fast in certain positions it can cause your palm or the side of your thumb to hit it and make all sorts of crazy shit happen like that or even worse shit you dont see cuz i fix it but its really irritating to me, like garbaging whole paragraphs and shit...so i have to hit ctrl+x often

that sounds like proper telephone etiquette to me:2thumbsup:

I hate that. I had a friend who would do that all the time. "Hey, let me call you back in a few". After a while I just started replying with "Actually, don't call me back because I have to go run some errands". Then he stopped doing it.

Eugh I dislike speaking on the phone unless it's for a specific purpose. Talking on the phone just to talk to someone makes me stressed, I worry that we'll run out of things to say or something. I do like talking in person, though.

I used to like to txt a lot, but as I've grown older (so much older) I don't care for that now, either.

I like talking to close friends and fam but as far as chit chat about people's issues that seem to go round and round (boyfriends, jobs, parents, kids, etc..), I get a little annoyed. I wish I didn't but I do. Gossip. :ack2:

I like talking in my classes though. :)

    This made me laugh :2thumbsup:

Edit: I am one of those people who let the phone ring out.

If anyone calls me, they better be dying. My friends and family know I prefer text. I hate talking on the phone.

    lol.

That's funny because like I said earlier in thread, when someone texts me with "can you call me?" my first thought is always "oh God, did someone die?" and then "or what else is wrong???"

Yeah, ive received a few texts like "Hey, call me" or something. So i check the missed calls and no, no missed calls from the person. Then I wonder whether the other buttons on their phone work, i.e. the ones you use to place a call, and think about replying to the text asking just that.

Dial the # is easier and more likely to work than asking the other person to dial the number.

well excuuuuuse me, but with people's phones being in their pockets these days, there ARE places where it is extremely inconsiderate to be ON the phone at all. maybe call you back, was the furst thing they could think of. maybe they have a new phone and haven't figured out how to turn off the ringer yet.

people who are offended that you can't or need not to, talk to them right this second, are one more reason i refuse to carry a phone at all. one more reason even, i don't have a whole hell of a lot of wish, to even own one.

    I tend to do this.
I do eventually call, or text.

I always call back if I have said I will. I do screen my calls as to be honest I detest the phone but returning calls is still something I do.

i don't really like bein on the phone sometimes either, so sometimes I will ignore 800 numbers when they call unless i'm in the mood to make a prank out of it ;)

I don't mind having a mobile phone, but it has to remember who's in charge.
IF I want to answer it,I will. If I'm not busy or driving.
Just like my housephone, sometimes it doesn't get answered-for various reasons.
It's the 'apps' I find most annoying. Do people REALLY need 200 apps on a phone?
Mine is old-it runs Symbian. So other than a satnav, voice recorder & compass,it has very few apps. BUT-it's indestructible, has a 12mp camera lens, has never lost signal and is reliable. Ok-it'll do for me. BUGGER the apps-ring,take pics, text. Sorted.

People should just keep it real. If they don't feel like talking anymore, just say so.
That's immature and insincere. I don't have patience for people like that in my life.
