Focus on the 'future', Not present, Nothing you can do or change now! But, With smart thought, You can reference history, Learn the mistakes and go from there.

Start with the teachers who do it for summers off and a fat check for k-12 babysitting. Some care and try, But that 'one' teacher cant do it all. Plus you have to have kids who 'want' to learn and not wait their turn for the welfare and "handouts".
The wage issue, Well im sorry, A person that fucks my meal up 9/10 times does not deserve $15 an hour. If they want that, Revert back to get off ass and get some education and you CAN make a decent wage.

Im sorry, But you listed the good ol' common 'im too lazy' to do my part and actually make something of myself pitch. We are Americans, Not American'ts! Motivation is the key though, And its hard to do when "handouts" are a plenty and 'no reason to work'.

 

You can bear arms. There's nothing said on the left about your not having rights to bear arms. We want the felons and insane to NOT buy arms so they don't go killing innocent civilians. NO one needs military weapons on our streets; all militia groups and radical groups who arm themselves with military weapons should be made to turn those in.

You want a pistol or a shotgun, go at it. But there is no justification for your desires over the safety of our nation and its citizens for ANYONE to buy a gun that shoots over 6 shots...and NONE at the same time.

The cost of education is through the roof now that banks control the means to it. Without a government guaranteed loan, few can go on to school after American corporations remove their jobs to communist chinese.

There are only plenty of handouts to the rich and the corporations in which they have holdings. Social welfare died with Christianity and the rise of the Christian Reconstructionists who worship the rich.

Teachers in public education are hard working and when they were funded, kicked the arse of the Chinese and Russians in putting out smarter children. Under the republican "defund education" plans since the 1980's, our educational funds have gone to charter schools which put out dumber kids and that suits the American and Chinese corporations just fine.

As to your denial of liveable wages for working Americans, I can only say maybe this isn't a country you find yourself loyal to anymore. Uganda may be more suitable for you. The Baptists took their tithing money and faith based money and bribed a president to pass a law to kill gays. That sounds more up your alley. But this country is my country, and American workers deserve a liveable wage.

 

OH God, Yogi,.... Seriously you seem like someone who has always had things handed to you OR at least easily attainable to you... for you don't seem to understand that other people have different advantages and it's not always so simple for people to just "stop being lazy and go learn a learn trade- go to college, etc."

For myself, I'm currently happy being a stay at home parent who also teaches flute lessons at home for a bit of extra family income. My husband makes enough currently that I don't have to work outside the house. But I'll tell you what. When I was a teenager and in early 20's I had student loans for college never completed-2 years, no degree.... the loans were only about 3 grand worth. However they went into default because the bloodsucking bastards will NOT accept payment of lower than $250 a month...every month. With kids and other expenses that is not going to happen and I have offered to pay them what I can afford and they won't take it til I can pay the full monthly payment. So I told them they'll be waiting til my kids are in school and I can work full time. IN ANY CASE... the not even 3 grand I owed in loans is now 14 grand. 14 freaking grand when they wouldn't accept lower monthly payments and I don't even have a degree. Oh and get this. I'd LOVE to go back to school and complete my degree when I am able. Would love to. I did super well in college. 3.90 GPA. In any case, I will not be eligible for more loans so unless I can pay for degree out of pocket will not be happening.

So... for me.... just stop being lazy and learn a new trade? Okay, would love to. Or maybe you think people just shouldn't make the mistake of starting college when they are very, very young if they're not gonna finish? I hate to break it to you but life can get in the way at times and if they won't accept lower payments.... not my problem.

And as for the second part....when I read his post I didn't know if he meant that guy Bergdahl or Obama. He probably thinks both.

Bergdahl will be investigated to see if he was working w the terrorists or not. It may not have been the best deal but imo, any American needs to be tried to brought home. Investigate him, sure....which I believe will happen. But bring them home regardless. I personally do believe Bergdahl deserted, but I don't know if he was a traitor. I believe he was someone who just should not have joined the military-saw some stuff he didn't like and left. He shouldn't have joined but I have a real issue w age that people can join the military and go to war. 17, 18 year olds aren't the world's best decision makers. In any case, sure, a better deal probably should have been made for him but he had to be brought home. Blah blah blah...whatever.

My bad. I guess he was 21 (I wasn't sure and just looked it up.).... I still stand by my statement that 17 and 18 is too young to make that decision and most people are probably that age when they decide to enlist.

But in any case, I still think Bergdahl was just looking for "adventure" and had certain psychological issues and shouldn't have joined up regardless of his age.

 

Bergdahl was also kicked out of the coast guard.

I have personally spoken with someone who was working with Bergdahls company on the FOB they were on and he said everyone that was there knows he is a deserter.
