I like Calla. (not the same as callie but close. Calla w a nickname of Callie is also on the long list.) PS, I do think you have to put a name on a birth certificate. But you don't have to do it right away. Not sure how long you have but it doesn't have to be right away. I'm all for having a few ideas and then seeing what the child most "seems" like when you meet them... but if I didn't have a pretty good idea or ideas I'd be afraid that I'd be all tired out or what not after labor and come up with a horrible name or something if I didn't plan ahead. Also keep in mind kids don't always.... don't usually... look the same as when they're born later on. My son was born w a full head of bright red hair. (and a cone head, lol)...after a couple weeks his red hair fell out and he grew this beautiful blond/brown hair... in any case, he looked totally different a few times before he turned into what he is now. I'd hate to think if I went to name him on a name with how he looked right after being born, simply because he looks totally different now.
If I ever have a daughter I will name her Lila after my favorite female botanist. If I have a boy I will name him either Douglas or Asa after my favorite male botanists. As far as my name, I think the name Christine is kind of boring so I think it fits my personality.
not endorsing these articles, but some food for thought http://www.nytimes.com/2008/03/11/science/11tier.html?pagewanted=all&_r=0 http://www.marketingcharts.com/wp/traditional/unique-baby-names-reveal-narcissism-epidemic-9252/
Hm, didn't think of that. Thanks. Will probably just stick with Ella Jade (or Elliana Jade or Olivia Jade).
My daughter's name is Anja Jolene. If I were to have another girl, I am really liking the name Carys right now. For a boy, I haven't put nearly as much thought into it, but I like the name Felix. His middle would be Benjamin, my husband's first name. It's kind of a tradition for his family for the father's first name to be the son's middle name. Luckily, I don't hate the name.
Well at least the kid will be 2 generations removed from …… ...that should be long enough https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xGb6lP4FVeg"]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xGb6lP4FVeg Hotwater
Felix....LOL I saw someone with a stuffed Felix somewhere just yesterday....or day before. How strange.....love that cat.....
That second article was written in a tone that acted like an unusual name was a bad thing. There are no bad names...just bad people. Except adolph hitler...thats a bad name.
My kids have unique names and I would say my name is somewhat unique as well. It's not that they're stupid names but they're both from a different culture than we deal with on a regular basis. They're not difficult to pronounce, but most people haven't known anyone with my kids' names and my name is commonly mistaken for another name that is pretty similar. I don't remember how many days you have to pick a name for your kid, but it's pretty easy to change it within the first weeks afterwards if you pick something you regret. I didn't pick my kids' names based on the way they look, it was more about their personalities.
