I love when the roadside filling stations have freshly made salad rolls and buns. It's the best. In a separate topic about bread rolls, my friends that came touring with me a few years back really enjoyed the salad rolls too but that type of bread/roll wasn't available in Australia. Few weeks ago they found these rolls and said they were exactly like they'd had in Germany. A week later Coles Australia was in trouble for importing frozen German bread products. Well my friends weren't wrong at all, they were EXACTLY like the rolls found here.. because they were the rolls found here. XD
I too have good memories of hitting the roadside restaurants (not sure if you mean those?) in Germany. We used to hit them on the way back after a multiple day festival, haha. Always the most hungover, dirty and hungry bunch of people in such a place... Unless it was a really big festival, then there often would be other dirty and tired party animals going there for a break on their way home :2thumbsup:
I know what you mean. There's like an American 60s/70s style restaurants on the road from Munich - Frankfurt area and it has really big road side meals. I was talking about petrol stations though and their freshly made lunches.
Bacon jerky, cheese curds, coconut manna, sardines, blackberries, walnuts and dark chocolate.... all within the last 30 minutes.
