i dont even like cats, but they like a little soft food now and then. probably shouldnt give them it all the time cause they gorge out on it., and :puke: just like any food you give them to much of..

I probably shoudnt give the cats a whole jar of catnip either. but ya know , if I got an oz of some buds Id want it all to myself too..

    Hi.
Minxy has stomatitis, Ty, and she cannot eat hard food....Hard food is too painful for her to eat. She would not eat anything, and after trying everything for her, she eats Fancy Feast.....so the important thing was keeping her alive with something. You have no idea how skinny she is.

Well, that was an awful night....cats all over me all night wanting water.....Minxy vomited and peed and crappped in her carrying case over to the vets. She is there now, and will need to call them about 2 to see when she can be gotten, and what the outcome was.....

Thanks, Scratcho....and everyone here who responded, too.....:)

Minxy had 8 teeth removed today, and is in recovery. She is doing well., He mouth was so inflamed, that they did lazer on her gums, too, for treatment. She will get an injection for pain before she leaves them when I pick her up, and if she needs more pain med, bring her back for another shot tomorrow. I don't have to put anything in her mouth. That is the good news. They understand that Minxy is a fighting lunatic wildcat when you try to even touch her mouth...so will be picking her up around 4....in a little while. YAY! :)

Minxy is hiding all day every day now....is not eating....I saw her briefly last night and could see stitches sticking out of her mouth. They are supposed to break out or dissolve on their own....They said she should not have any more pain now and should be eating, so I don't know what to do anymore....for her. :(

I have come to the conclusion that this cat cannot even tolerate the slightest differences.

Minxy is doing quite well. I took a couple of new photos of her today, outside, as she was following me around while I was photographing a new doll. That is a small insect crawling on her eyelid in the one photo......and then Minxy decided to wash it off and the rest of herself in the next photo...

When her mouth hurts, she does not wash herself....so all is good for now...:)

That's a cute little cat. I know it's hard to see an animal in pain, but I think they take the pain much better than humans. We tend to try to fight it and wonder why it is happening to us, whereas animals probably take it as just part of their existence.

It looks to me like Minxy couldn't be in better hands.

    Thanks, expanse that mean alot....:)

Right now I am scared....Champy pug, who was 12 years old this past May has a collapsing trachea. I almost lost him last summer, but vet put him on oxygen and he is on pills every day for the rest of his life now to relax the trachea and relax him.......His breathing was a little labored again last night, and he just collapsed again....and screamed like I never heard a pug scream out in terror before. I thought it was the end....but after massaging his chest, he is back now....but I think he does not have too much longer, as he is collapsing more frequently now, and just a little bit of exercise can bring it on, so I am reminded how afraid I really am at times. Champy definitely does not want to die...:(

Mewey, my 15 year old black cat, went to the vet today for bloodwork. She is all of 6 pounds now, and has lost 3 pounds in the last few months....too much for any cat to lose in that short of time.....Her urine sample from last week showed an infection, so she is on mediction for that, and now her blood is being checked for what else is wrong with her, as the vet knows something is very wrong.....am worried....but...preparing,, too....she is old.....Will do all that can be done to make the last part of her life as happy as possible....and maybe it won't be the worst news....but...I am still preparing....I am sad. She is the pet I have had the longest here, and has lived in 3 different houses with me........

Maybe this is why I feel like crying all day.....:(

Minxy, my other female, on the other hand, is doing fine still and she is a joy......What a character she is...never stays still and is into everything around here.....

Mewey's kidneys are not in good shape, but the vet has seen worse, and it is not a death sentence, so that was good news.
Mew needs to be on some liquid medication for awhile. It is easy to shoot the liquid into her mouth with a syringe type of thing. She has always been the easiest cat to give medicine to.
I also have to try to get Mew's weight back up a little, so she gets heavy cream now and other things.......
so a little relieved here for now....:)

Well, poor Minxy has been in alot of pain lately, so she had another vet appointment this morning and her mouth is very inflamed again due to the stomatitis, even where they took teeth out already.....She got another shot, and needs to get more teeth removed on feb 3....and they will see what is going on more fully then when they can keep her mouth open long enough to examine more fully....then she will need to be on a lifetime of steroid treatment and every 6 months blood testing due to it...The future looks bleak for her and for costs.....She will be only 2 years old on Jan 18th and I am very sad today......

of course, we have to do everything humanly possible for her....:(

    Bless our hearts....lol

Minxy just got home....she had the rest of her teeth removed today, so now, she is a toothless cat....and does not have any teeth left. they were all infected....poor thing.....
I hear cats can live long happy lifes with no teeth on soft food.....

this will not guarantee that her gums do not keep getting infected though....:(
