well we give the world all the meaning it has for us. I enjoy talking to you and I always look at your posts.
A lot of people find me tedious. I didn't say I enjoyed your posts but i enjoy talking to you and am interested in what you have to say because you are not an idiot. I enjoy communication
This is the same thought I had when I read that commandment. I assume it's meaning any acquaintances that you come into contact with. People such as ourselves. I am a huge believer and recognize Jesus Christ as my Savior, so I do intend to take these commandments very seriously. In fact the entire purpose of my life is centred around anything I can do to please the Lord.
Congrats on your about-to- be daughter! Given your attitude toward life, she's a lucky girl. You've nicely summed up my attitude on "Love your Neighbor". I'd just add, the main reason I do it is because it makes me feel good, especially if you add God to the equation. If you expect love back as a quid pro quo, you've made your own feeling of well-being dependent on how somebody else feels about you, which is something nobody can control. It reminds me of what Marcus Aurelius said about prayer. Instead of asking for stuff, try asking not to want it. The real challenge comes with loving enemies (Matthew 5:44). but Paul's version in Romans 12:20, paraphrasing Proverbs25:22, has more bite: "In doing this, you will heap burning coals on his head." Or as Bertrand Russell put it:"Love your enemies because it makes them so damned mad!"
. Or as the Twelve Steppers in recovery groups put it: "If you have a resentment you want to be free of, if you will pray for the person or thing that you resent, you will be free." It's something we do for ourselves.
What's trampled on is the ego. The little thing that constantly needs to be protected and defended. I like to think they are doing me a favor whenever it happens. A chunk of it is broken off and I'm freed a little more.
Not sure why you posted this exactly but I enjoyed the crap out of that game Lots of great worked out atmosphere and interesting setting (and the ideas behind it)! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZP8VRtFCxbc
