Sausages are my specialty. Well I don't make them myself but what I can do with them is always pretty tasty.

    Hello,

most sausages you can buy in supermarkets here is cheap standard stuff. It tastes all the same IMO. If you find a small butcher's shop that exists for decades you might pay a bit more than at the supermarket. But they have their own individual receipes, so mouthgasm is near ;). And as a bonus they most likely process meat that is produced local and not driven across Europe three times.

This mutated into a thread for sausage lovers and Asmo started it ;).

    Regards
    Gyro

Not that sausage isn't a worthy subject but to be honest didn't you start it with your university bbq adventure? I was just pointing out how typical it is that this happened in Germany with german students ;)

    Hello,

well, we could have bbqed pork belly and no sausages ;). Anyways, I think we can twist every thread so that it becomes a sausage thread. The pressed_brat comes to mind ;).

    Hello,

    ;)

PR wouldn't like it I guess. Wrongs fats, too many carbs and perhaps not gras feed ;).

Partially grass fed I may hope...? :p And are they transfats? Or just saturated? It can differ per brand or kind of sausage I bet. They're not all made the same or with the same kind of meat.

    Hello,

puh, I'm not an expert in fats. All I know is that fat is a taste carrier and the brats, ups sorry, the stripes of pork belly have to be yummy ;).

I never regarded a good quality bratwurst as particularly unhealthy. They should confirm this in university with a study I think. Now the circle is round and we are on topic again!

    Hello,

magnificient ;). If a country would introduce a master course in bratwurstology then it would be this country. And I think I would be capable of getting a diploma in that course ;).

    Hello,

I hope they have a lot of hands-on training in that course.

Well, I can know that only after posting. Or are we two the only ones who are left in RT? Hopefully not.

    Regards

    Is that real?
I've seen bratwurst in machines, but I don't recall one with that much choice.

People in England think I'm really weird because I'll buy salami/bratwurst etc in England as a snack(instead of chocolate etc), or as breakfast etc. But to me, it just feels normal. And I'm not remotely German either.
I know some of Eastern Europe is into spicy type meats, but not as much as Germany.

    Hello,

yepp, it's real. This machine is located in Bavaria. But they are really rare, I don't know of one in my area. Well, snacking on salami or landjaegers isn't unknown to me. Sometimes if I wake up in the middle of the night I walk over to the fridge and get a mini salami or a piece of cheese ;).
