Struts are spring dampers,. When they go bad, your springs will be bouncy, "old caddy" style. This can lead to dangerous handling, but if you find that it doesn't... who cares? If the squeal is creaking, the PB blaster can says you can use it on them, if I remember right... I wouldn't do it on good shocks, but if they're blown and you just want them quiet, it shouldn't matter.

When shocks squeak, it's not so much a creak, either, it's a smoother noise usually.

I'd guess that it is bushings, and maybe balljoints - and they're probably partly telling the truth about the sway bar. It's a bar that ties the sides of your suspension together to help stiffen the side that's leaning in and soften the side that's pulling up - when you're not leaning, it doesn't do anything but does move as the suspension travels. It rides in carrier bushings, that it twists in, and has a balljoint on each end, attached to a control arm.

If it's those bushings, a dab of grease in each should quiet it down. You should be able to do it yourself, or take it to a more "lube" type shop where they don't have a bunch of shit to sell you, tell the guy exactly what you want greased. I can either give you instructions for either of these paths, if you'd like.

It may NOT quiet it, but then the whole 650 job would never have done a thing anyway.

    Gosh darn.

I went in to get my oil changed and of course they talked me into more. As soon as they lifted up the hood I saw smoke. So I was talked into whatever they wanted. They told me I needed a coolant flush. And apparently all my back lights were out. Who knows how long. So they replace all the bulbs and junk and they tell me the lights still don't work!

so I throw a fit and tell them I'm not paying for lights that don't work. THey end up giving me like 50% off my 200 dollar bill. which is nice considering I only wanted a $20 oil change. Asshats.

Then I go to my real mechanic and he is so mad. The flush he gave to my car is good for 50,000 miles. The smoke could have been them merely taking the radiator cap off too quickly. Whatever that means. But he was really mad.

All in all, I had to spend another 170 because the button behind the brakes that sends a signal to my lights was broken.

    Par for the course.

Smoke can mean imminent fire - it can also mean that you have a vehicle that runs because of fire, and many parts of it can harmlessly smoke. Coolant flush won't help with smoke. Throw some water on a hot radiator and it'll steam up and look scary, though. What that means about your radiator cap is that your cooling system is under pressure, and slightly above the boiling point, when it's hot. If you take the cap off, it'll overflow everywhere and steam, for obvious reasons. Or you could have had oil burning off your exhaust or something.

If all your tail lights went out, nobody who is functional enough to live on their own should go stick bulbs in without testing the circuit first.

Why isn't the backyard mechanic hoppin'?

saw my mother today, been a few weeks. was great to see her, told her I want a 2nd dog, she told me yea right dude. She loves Deja, but she said no broony, wait tell Deja at least 7... fair.

worried about my brother. he lost his job, car was towed and impounded and he couldn't pay so he lost it, and was kicked out of his house cause he cant pay. none of the family has heard from him in weeks.

I hate having to call people to hunt him down, as he is several states away.

I have a principle to leave nothing behind worth documenting.

if I die tomorrow. they will find find books, pots and pans, more books, movies, snowboards, downhill skies, full motor gear, a nice bed, lots of ammo and guns.

I disassembled some redwood panels earlier today... They are tongue and groove. Gotta work carefully so you don't split that groove... Tricky stuff. I have more than I need for the section over those doors so I should be good on that. They are going to need some sanding before finish, they are somewhat weathered and were painted. I stripped the paint a few weeks ago but some of the grain is "standing" and needs leveled. Gotta be done by hand.

I think it's Coastal Redwood, not Giant Sequoia as it's newer pieces... After stain and finish, nobody will know but me.

i placed an overseas order yesterday for a lot of 5 items that were each 5 meters in length

then when checking up on things the listing page didnt exist

then checked again today and listing has been changed/edited to say items a 1m length and a lot is 5m....

cancelled order and got refund before seller shipped me one instead of the five i wanted

nice of them to contact me and explain their mistake instead of hoping i didnt notice the edit
