tyranny is the dominance of aggressiveness. and ideal society would have none of it, regardless of ideology or belief. it would also put no ideology ahead of the happiness and well being of real people, places and things.
How do you guys think the ideal society could be built or created? How would you go about building that ideal society?
it begins with as near as possible a universal understanding of the desirability to do so. the realization, that whatever kind of world we create, we have to live in it. then it takes disciplining ourselves in accordance with how, if it were how people acted, the kind of world we would want to live in, is the kind of world that would result. if enough people did that, we wouldn't even create the vacuum that sucks governments into existence. no ideology nor belief can replace doing so. enslaving oneself to the word 'freedom', is not freedom and frees no one. neither is aggressiveness, nor does any excuse for it, which is what ideologies are, and organized beliefs are often used as excuses for. it does not buy into the self fulfilling and abusive myth, that as a species we lack the capacity to do so.
What I'm wondering is how I can go about spreading this word of a more peaceful/ideal society. I'm Trying to figure out how I can communicate this message to others....some people just don't wanna listen, unfortunately.
xerox copy machine and 2000 reams of paper =1million sheets, thats about $6,000.00 in paper .. got to spread the propaganda the same way the media does.
With what? I guess it all depends on what you want to change. I think we don't need to start over society if the people don't change. Even if people all wanted to change for the better we could just go from where we are and not start something all over.
Ideally when we see personal integrity the same as group integrity then we become teachers of ideal society. The way to affect change is to accept responsibility for everything you see. A sure way to perpetuate the status quo is to claim victimization.
Accept responsibility for everything I see? I still have to live my life! Is victimisation one of the most important reasons we are not in ideal persons or in a/the ideal society yet?
I feel the need to "preach" this message of peace, of the ideal society and member of it. I do like the idea of using the media, but I'm not sure how I'd go about it. I think I should get involved with like-minded groups and work with them to start. Maybe I could give a TED Talk on it, I dunno. But someone needs to teach these people a better way of living and I'm not seeing it happen as of right now.
you do have a point there. its not that the causes of victimization aren't real. its just that we can't externalize everything (and be honest with ourselves at the same time), any more then we can internalize it. (that's one problem i have with this idea name brand religions have, with their idea of devils and demons) (we are our own devils and demons, statistically, though not always individually)
Change the idea that EVERYTHING has a price. The price is now too high for most. The price is especially high for the earth itself.
Change the idea that having more is better to having less is better. Freely give and freely receive. Simplicity gives freedom.
What a fuss? And there is no history for the temporal passing in our city-atate civilization. :daisy:
Agreed. I'd rather use my money to buy experiences (money for gas to travel, tickets to a show, etc) than material things. Simplicity is great and it makes the world a much better place.
If peace means non-violence then to cultivate peace on this planet first requires unity (all working together for a shared, common goal) and a full understanding of the causes of violence (violations). Justice is what restores peace. Justice makes right of wrongs, not make wrongs right. See the injustice in what takes place in this piece about Bradley Manning: http://powerofnarrative.blogspot.com/2011/03/kingdom-of-evil.html We have to MAKE Justice and we have to MAKE non-violence and we have to MAKE peace. No Justice, No Peace. Justice first, not the other way around. Humanity should never stop calling for peace but what they've yet to figure out is that Justice comes first. They should be calling for Justice. This is a very difficult video to watch but it is a testament to the severity of the corruption in this world. If it hurts you, scares you, makes you cry and makes you angry .. GOOD. It's when something like this stirs no emotion or outrage that something is terribly wrong. When this is normalcy, something is very wrong. And this sort of thing, in the United States and in the world, has become normalcy. We've become desensitized, used to it and conditioned to see it as a normal part of life. It's FAR from normal. http://youtu.be/hxgNKNEtk18 No Justice, No Peace And now to conclude, an offering of support in your call for Peace ...
