Eggs are something I usually salt as well. Tomato, cucumber and beets are a few others. I do cook with salt but rarely use it after at the table.

    My chips are good! :)

    hi everyone

my sister in law is still hanging in there.

they don't know what's wrong with her.

    mri and eeg were neg

she is breathing about as much as the respirator is.

she doesn't respond to voices today.

she does respond to the neurologist pricking her.

we're not really sure which way she will turn since they don't really know the cause of these complications since having the feeding tube placed.

i'm exhausted. keeping the kids on winter break, and keeping up with contacting/getting the word out on everything that goes on with my sis-in-law's condition. we have a massive family and she has lots of friends.

    good night.

That might not sound great but it doesn't sound all bad either. Things can take a turn for the better. Stay positive. It sounds like that's just about all you can do. I wish you the best.

My heart goes out to you and your sister-in-law, as well as my thoughts and prayers.

I just wanted you to know that.

Times like this physical and medical things are baffling, even to doctors.

RF: the hubby decided to stay home and spend the day with us, there's a meat pie in the oven and a traditional pork leg stew heating up on the stove, I'm drinking my 3rd tipsy coffee of the day (coffe with some coureur des bois in it, it's a maple cream liquor) and I'm having a Harry Potter movie marathon. Life is good. :D

So, a couple of pages back I mentioned this evergreen tree I took down... thing was a bytch to get down, some of it is still out there balanced in a large honeysuckle bush, so it's still a possible WM. I'll get it later. It was a large tree, about 18 inches across where I cut it, maybe 30-40 feet tall. I use pine mostly as a fire starter but will burn it sometimes with the flue good and hot.

Anyways, it was killed by borers of some sort but the wood is still solid, kinda rain wet but seasoned. Still had bark on it which fell off as I cut the tree. The logs were heavy as hell, which seemed odd, figured it was the absorbed water. The whole time I was messing with it there was a very strong "turpentine" smell. Though not an unpleasant smell, more like incense or some pieces of lumber I've handled before, just strong. As I was cutting and splitting I noted some pitch pockets filled with sap which is common, figured that was probably the cause of the scent. Some that I had brought inside to let the water dry out was pretty dry today, but kind of sticky. I grabbed a chunk to get the fire going again this afternoon, tossed it on the hot coals and within a minute it was raging big time. This whole tree is "fatwood" ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fatwood ) and I have a ton of it... Nothing starts a fire better than fatwood.

    Major score!
