yeah, man, you can't just go tearing out someone's face because their kid got rude. though growing up i saw a lot of that and was really entertained by it. but don't ever let someone be mean to your kid, that's just wrong. you done good.

maybe that woman was protecting her child then too..... and why give her grief over it?? your son attacked her child, so of course she is going to react.

it's one thing to tell a child "no" and inform the mother. my own daughter has been hurt by other children just being children. it's not that big of a deal. it's quite another to speak dispresectfully of or to the child. that's inexcusable and most likely due to being annoyed over being in line. that's just bullshit. people who think they can be nasty like that need to be shamed.

Fair enough, but, I think the woman should have brought it up with missfontella, adult to adult. No stranger should be disciplining another persons child in their presence. It undermines the mothers authority, and it sets a dangerous precedent of obeying what a stranger tells the youngster to do.
I have no argument with the mother defending her child, but she should do her talking to the adult, and not the child.

Any normal mother has been in the doctor's office and had some 2 year old try to take your newborn's car seat (with your newborn in it) or had another baby attempt to snatch your child's bottle or sip cup. They are children. I always engage the child in conversation so that the mother will notice and handle it. " No sweetie, that's my baby. If you ask your Mommy she might get you one the next time you go to walmart" or " you don't want that bottle, baby, my son has a terrible back wash problem"

the average adult understands that children have no concept of decorum. they are just exploring. that woman was actually pissed at my son. a grown damn woman was pissed at a 1 year old kid. that's stupid. especially since her child was not seriously hurt or crying. He didn't poke her eye OUT. he touched it ( I suspect because they were blue). What she did is like hearing a baby cry and saying " damn that kid is rude". You nincompoop....its a toddler!

she was being an ass....point blank

A one year old does not "attack". Another mother does not need to protect against a one year old.

Yeah, she'd react, of course... people react to everything.... but you would think she would be rational and understand that the other child was a BABY and not trying to hurt anyone.

You need to get a license to drive a car, but anyone can raise a kid.........sigh.

I do not yet have it figured out how an adult can take the actions of such a young, free mind so personally. I have seen it in hospitals too, with nurses getting angry at patients that have brain injuries, and cannot be held responsible for their irrational behavior. It is wrong for such emotionally fragile egos to be working with such people. It is just a matter of time before something really tragic happens. I know a case where a friends partner lost her cool with a challenging 6 year old, and he ended up in hospital........totally unnecessary. He was a challenge, but not an impossible one. He just needed a lot of one on one support and direction and he was an awesome kid. But in this case the person in control had no capacity to offer that, and hurt him. He is okay now, but it is a great example of what happens when adults take childrens behaviour personally.

it's not ghetto (wtf?) to get severely pissed off at some bitch being disrespectful to your child or yourself. she didn't haul off and hit the woman, which would be lacking in class and sense. she did good, considering the circumstances. i woulda humiliated the woman into crying.
