Great shots, Pieceofmyheart! Just a quick shot out the window. Lots of steam on the lake this morning.
so this is why you don't take your freight ship onto a 90% frozen lake when the temperature is not going to be above zero for the next two weeks. i wish i could have gotten a better picture, but my phone camera doesn't zoom that well and i guess they're stuck about 5 miles out. there's an ice cutter on its way out to try and free them, but it's been out there a couple days already and only gone about a quarter of the distance from where it started. this is the kind of stupid stuff that just seems to happen all the time around here.
Talking about selfies, did you post one in the last 12 months? Yes, now that I finally posted some myself I can (and WILL) rightfully bother others with this :-D
Good morning...we are stuck in a major storm today, temps are 13...been snowing for hours. This is a view from my front porch.
I like the upper pic most! The combi of white snow falling and the blueish darkness of the hour (is it evening/night there?) just give it a nice contrast and that atmosphere I associate with a snowy evening
i probably could walk out there right now, but it would be my luck that i'd hit the one thin spot in the ice 4 1/2 miles out and have to walk back in wet clothes. i'm not sure, i actually forgot to mark my calendar last time. it's probably been about twice that long though; i feel like i was in my last apartment last time i did.
climate is not the same as weather. i don't know what it will take for people to get that, or if they ever will. but people will be, are already being in some places, impacted by secondary effects. as time goes on, those will become increasingly deadly.
