My brother caught a flying squirrel when I was a little girl. He brought it in the house and it flew behind the piano. I can remember there was alot of excitement trying to get it back outdoors.

My former husband shot a fox squirrel, like this one. He brought it home, showed it to me, and then wanted to put it in the trash. I went off on him. I'd never seen a squirrel like that! I made him get it mounted since he had killed it. I was so angry that he thought so little of it.

The douglas squirrel lives all around me. I've heard a single squirrel call for more than an hour straight and am always challenged by the territorial call when I walk through the trees.

The grey squirrels in the yard are forever fussing at the cats.

I'm surprised that I haven't seen the squirrels drunk on the apples that fall and rot. I've seen the apples in the front yard and I know the squirrels carry them over the house from the back yard.

Mulberries will also do that, they ferment rather quickly and there's usually millions of them on the ground. I used to have to use chains on my lawnmower to get through em.

    ...the mulberries that is.

I've heard the same from squirrels eating fermented pumpkins. I wonder if an abundance of fermenting fruit is common fodder for squirrels in the absence of human agriculture. On second thought I imagine the squirrels experience is somewhat akin to the way we discovered alcohol.

    Hello,

holding a bunch of nuts? They like to act harmless. Jumping funny? Mafia quad? Don't you see it? They just follow their evil plan for world domination. After they got sober from drinking all that pumpkin booze of course.

    Regards
    Gyro
