Weed And Socializing

There are two sides to the spectrum, I guess. For example, I rarely ever smoke weed.. I pretty much have to have a few beers in me first to relax me because weed in general makes me extremely anxious and I tend to stay away from it especially in social situations.. but my boyfriend smokes consistantly throughout the day.. when he wakes up, before he does chores, before we go anywhere, before he eats, before we go to bed.. but I assume he self medicates with it. He has mental health diagnoses and we are uninsured, and it's still cheaper to buy weed than it is to go to a psychiatrist..

 

I smoke throughout the day, every day. I have a long drive in the morning so it kills the time! Get to work and business as usual. Smoke during and on the way home.
I only smoke joints, can't really stand pipes, never have. I have many and never found a good one plus it's paraphernalia, I can eat joints!
Blunts are ok, they actually last longer and more or less weed, rillo minis. If it's a fresh cigar the tobacco wrap is moist it will burn for a bit. I smoke only medical, any way works, but prefer a good ol joint.

Don't even want to take the chance anymore. Much easier and enjoyable rolled up!

 

The thing with joints and blunts is that they reek. At least with a bowl you can cap it between hits if need be, then simply blow the smoke out the window with minimal smoke getting on you. My girls at work all smoke blunts, and they come into work reeking like it. You don't really have that when you smoke from a pipe.

 

I think blunts smell like a dog just took a shit.

 

This isn't a risk at your job? It's one of the reasons for me I would not smoke on the job at all. That and of course I don't work for anybody and if I do work for someone I am planning on earning my pay, not smoke weed while they pay me money to properly do the work I am supposed to do. Granted, some can combine this very well. But I'm not one of those people.

 

I have ventured into a new field/line of work and it's only 3 people. We have 'safety meetings' which is where we take a break and burn one. The owner is one of the three and the other is a master carpenter. We all wake and bake and get shit done faster than kids half our age. We can zone in on the project and make $$!

 

Sounds like a cool boss/owner. I also know a carpenter who can do his job just fine after a J, because it indeed enables him to zone in and focus on the work. What helps is once you are an expert on the job most practical work gets some form of routine. But I also know he neither would never smoke before or during the job for his boss. Only in his own hours.

 

It's a sweet gig and outside work, suntan and fresh air! I know for some, it's better after work, late at night etc but I love to have my senses altered 100% of the time. Only downfall, you learn a new trade high, you won't remember shit! Unless high again and that's a cap shoot.
I did the same when I worked solely on my own, now it's like family and I'm learning a new trade so can't pass up $$ and knowledge.
I know metals, auto body and suspension fabrication so I can build a car. Now,I would like to learn and frame houses from dirt lot to turn-key top of the line one off 'retirement/dream homes'.

 

I've been able to work and socialize high just fine, but I would never do more than I could handle, except when I was a total newbie. From what I remember (super long time ago) my friends and I smoked from a "joint" is that the same as a blunt? It totally smelled and I got in trouble for it, although I think I got high from someone actually blowing the smoke in my mouth. I smoked from a blunt maybe once or twice more when I was in college and then it was only pipes. I don't remember one getting me more high than the other but I've never had a problem stopping after a certain point. I find that I typically will want to get up, wander off and start doing something interesting to me, or I'd totally zone out and be out of reach, but I didn't particularly mind that much because I didn't feel any need to entertain. At the same time though I was often smoking with a big group of people and the pressure wasn't on me, or with someone I was in a relationship with, so no pressure again.

 

The blunts are 'supposed' to give you a better buzz from the tobacco wrap mix. Joints resonate and save the roaches for a rainy day. Yeah, both reek, but flavored blueberry cigar gutted and rolled up isn't as bad as a joint. A job that lingers and stays around, but I could care less if someone smells it.

 

there was a place in southern oregon i once lived where the herb was an instrument of socializing. this was when i furst arrived up there in the late 70s.

 

Funny, because last night we smoked out of my pipe and she got pretty ripped, so apparently it has something to do with being used to a certain method of smoking. Anyway, we kind of bonded last night in a way we hadn't previously. She totally wants me, though, and I'm not really feeling it that way. She ALWAYS has to bring up sex whenever we get high together.

 

It seems it can be concluded where it comes to weed and socializing it is (almost) always better when we feel the pressure to socialize isn't mainly/solely on ourself

I say almost as some people do not give a shit about this pressure it seems. They can and feel like socializing with anybody under pretty much any circumstances I also feel lucky I do not let such feelings of pressure get to me most of the time when toking. But as stated I would feel a different kind of stress/pressure if I did it during official working hours. It's like... if I was a boss myself I would have no problem with employing stoners (on the contrary), but I would in most cases have a problem with them getting stoned on the job. So this 'principle' works through when I am an employee myself I guess.

 

Rat? Once again a woman isn't good enough for you're super high standards! I remember the last one else or one a few ago was a little portly and wasn't into that. Gotta have some give and take man!

I know the baggage thing etc but seems like someone you wouldn't have to worry about lying to you. To each their own, can't force feelings, but can at least hit some ass lol. Good luck either way dude

 

I prefer to smoke with my friend's cos i know em all for more then 10+ years, i feel totally comfortable to smoke and have fun with em, but when situation comes to me and say - would u smoke alone? i say - yes )

 

Although there is some valid point in here IMHO, in this case it doesn't really apply. He already made sure this is not such an issue, this is a weed and socializing issue (even though she would perhaps be open to more). Now there's finally a woman to toke with and he's not attracted to her and he still gets advice that he should just hit it

 

I simply cannot have sex with someone I am not physically attracted to. It's weird, because it seems like most men will fuck anything that moves, regardless of how nasty it is. And I am not even a person who has had tons of sex in my life, and I actually went without it for extended periods of time in my 20s because I was fat, depressed, and couldn't talk to women much less maintain eye contact with them. You would think I would have lower standards, but I don't.

 

I can't believe she has time to hang out more and smoke with you....she works and has 4 kids? Honestly....she shouldn't have time for you. Plus...if you decide to "hit that"...better double condom yourself.
