My dad has edema in his legs real bad. He complains that if he elevates his legs he gets stabbing pains. and the edema just gets worse and worse. I've researched this a little and he went to a biofeedback person and they said it was his kidneys and that he is lacking in minerals. any suggestions anyone on what he could do??
Hey Willow, If youre Dad has Edema, do you know the cause, does he see a doctor?Could be if he seriously limits his sodium he would have less swelling.Im talking 2000mg.per day, which is a lifestyle change.Have you ever checked out the food labels under sodium?Cause any processed food contains alo of sodium. If its his kidneys, and its been ongoing it could be more serious than you think...not to scare you,but renal failure can be controlled or it can be fatal'Also, does he have any heart issues?I know that congestive heart failure can lead to renal failure,as I was just diagnosed about a month ago with congestive heart failure.....I will be going to U.C.S.F.mfor treatment and Im still young for this,46 isnt that old.Well good luck with youre dad and I hope all turns out okay.I will say a prayer.audreyanne
