When I was stationed in Germany, we carpooled a lot. Well as the driver dropped me at the house, out of habit I guess with my wife I said see you tomorrow babe. Not quite the same thing but the next day, as he dropped me off again, he asked me if I called him babe. I laughed my ass off and said I think so!
Yeah a girl I knew for only a few hours said that to me once over the phone, only to later discover she was addressing her 3 year old son while we were talking. I was embarrassed as shit when I found out Hotwater
I think I have pre loaded and ready to go answers for most situations. I often laugh at myself that when someone asks me how I am, I give them the same answer. :d same person, same question, same answer. Day after day. "gut danke, wie geht es dir?" Every. Single. Time. :d That is my notion of small talk. I tell them "I am well thanks, how are you doing?" This manipulates them into continuing the conversation. With friends it's a little different because.. Who even asks friends how they are doing? They're your friends, you should already know. the first thing I say to friends is "würden Sie ein Bier?".
I forgot I made this. He has broken up with that girlfriend so no more awkward "i love yous" from her. I was texting a friend I met here and I got a text that said "Good night. I love you" My first thought was wow, that escalated quickly. I just waited for a second because I was hoping there would be a follow up text. There was. It said "I'm sorry. That was supposed to go to my son" Whew, dodged that bullet.
"That's sweet and all... but don't ever say that to me. Ever again... EVER." Hey Ruuubes? ...olive juice.
