Have to go knock out the rest of that nasty, cracked tree tomorrow. I think I've decided that we aren't going to be taking these kinds of jobs anymore. I should have just said we don't have the time to do it. We'll still do it for our own customers but this job is turning into a goat fuck. I bid it to do on our off-time and now we have to pull off of our usual hours to do this shit tomorrow. That costs us money. I did bid it high but it doesn't matter when it costs maybe 11-12 regular crew hours down just to do this one tree. So you take the price...subtract the lost revenue...is it worth it now? No. I should have told the guy we wouldn't do it when he said he couldn't get his end of the deal lined up on the weekend. Dammit.

 

when my data is low, i cant watch youtube, but I can go to liveleaks and the video will load and play... I dont care to watch shit in high def. youtube picks the highest quality of videos much time the settings wont change to lower or make a difference..

getting house from sheriffs sale is harder than I though. I have to go to 5 different offices tomorrow. much of that paper work will cost me $140.00 and thats not even saying ill get the house after spending that , no refund. I cant pay attorney to do it cause it will cost even more for him to run around the courthouse .. all this needs to be done by the 4th - May the fourth be with you. then and maybe then Ill be able to say.



I just know there is a water bill lien on the place(one the offices ill need to go to)., Its just the way this city rolls. the meter been in the house all those years, and they will want the rent on that meter.. a fucking mazing what these corporations will tax a mofo on over a piece of cast metal.

 

You called it...money pit. But it still seems worth the money. Just look at it as an investment.

 

So I was at my local brewery this evening and one of the guys who is there sometimes is a big wheel at a local bank. I've been planning on refinancing my house for a while at a lower interest rate and wanted to go local. I told him this and he said "Why? Will it make you feel better to get screwed locally?" So we talked some numbers and kind of came to a tentative agreement. Then I kind of jokingly said "Since my payment is lower...I might hammer the principle...you won't be offended by that, will you?" He said "Fuck no!"

I think I'm going to like doing business with this guy. Seems like my kind of guy!

 

WoodRat runs... (it hasn't been started for weeks, so it took quite a few pulls to get it to fire) Still more to do, at the moment there aren't any belt or chain guards on it but I took it for a ride anyways. Governor needs adjustment along with the throttle but that link works.

The exhaust stack is done and braced along with the "HOT" muffler cover, a lot of cleaning has been done. Throttle has been moved, off switch re-orientated... It now has a hood ornament as all good Rat Rods should have.

With the chain guard off I was finally able to check those sprockets... They are in better shape than any of the other Breadys I've seen on the net, I still want to make an idler to take up some slack on the front chain. Have to figure out a fix for the steering that doesn't involve welding. (need a welder, I really do) Gas tank and fuel lines need changed around and add a fuel filter. Fix a bunch of broken zerk fittings, lube everything and change the oil. I should probably rebuild the carburator and change around the air filter. Maybe swap out that green drive belt for a regular black one so the clutch works better...


After all that I should be getting close to done with it... Until I find an old 9HP motor for it.



Oh, and I've been mowing all day...

Yeah? Ok....predict 3 things...Orisons house, Tyrsons mower and my tree job tomorrow. Shoot for the trifecta.

 

It took some muscles but I got both slabs turned on their sides...and there were already little worm things (larvae?) under there...I was quick with the Sevin dust.

Then I went to Lowes yesterday and got some WaterSeal...its says its a waterproofer PLUS (yes, the plus was capitalized and in a different color lol), resists mildew etc...for use on decks, fences, outdoor furniture and exterior wood. Hopefully that will at least slow down the termite and/or rotting process.

At least long enough for me to not be a big baby about it all.

edit: the reason I didn't get a "thane" was because #1 - I couldn't find any and #2 - there was NOBODY around to help anybody (me) find anything. I saw any number of other people just wandering around looking like they were looking for stuff too.

This stuff has mineral oil for what its worth.

 

Now, I have to bring plants back inside in for the night. It may go down to feezing and below...It is very cold tonight. Feels good, though out there, though.

 

Plants are in. Geez...one of them is heavy......a spider plant I have had for 16 years at least.....the cats love to claw off its long arms when it is inside though........
There is another spider plant and planted ivy...had all 3 of these plants for too long now.....

 

I've had to do that last two nights... but those are trees I'm moving.

Off to the hospital today. They are running MRI and ultrasound on hubby's abdomen because they are looking for the source of his anemia.

Grands after school and then grandson's ballgame tonight.
