Hi I really hate to bug anyone but if someone could help me on this...

I've always wondered the difference between being crazy and being clairvoyant. Like how psychics say they hear voices and stuff. How do they know the difference between being crazy or not? I've tried to search this for years now and haven't really come up with anything. If anything I've confused myself more and I've gotten very depressed by this.

Um anyway, I basically hear voices in my head. They're "in" my head and I don't actually hear them "out loud" so to speak. It's mostly one in particular and he's rather helpful and not mean like most cases with schizophenia. I'm wondering if maybe he's a spirit guide or somethng?? I'm just so confused.

All of my life as well I've been kinda psychic... like I'd predict things that came true or I'd have premonitions in my dreams. Like I'd dream something and it'd happen exactly the way it did in the dream... like a crazy strong Deju vu. I can actually "feel" someone in the room and can go as far as figuring out what position they're in without actually looking at them. I think I may have a slight empathy as well... I also by first meeting someone automatically know their personality without being told anything about the person ahead of time.

*shrugs* I'm not sure about the voice though. I've been practically ripping my hair out to find anything and I'm just feeling stuck. I feel like because of all that stuff happend I could be psychic but also because I was severily negleted and emotionaly abused as a child that I might have a mental illness. So I'm constantly going back and forth... I just wish someone could help or tell me. Thanks so much for your time.

i think the voices in the head are always you or intersected with you , not completely other , like god is not completely other , like love is not completely you . mental illness is of withdrawal and too much self-ness , loneliness , of too much competely you .

we have mind theatre .... of voices , one or many .

if it serves an artful and expressive balance of self and nature , then all's well .

hi raven. you dont seem very different from me at all. if there are psychics, im one of em. i get premonitions every day. i know whats gonna happen before it does happen, i just never know when. when i meet people, i can tell almost everything about them by looking in their eyes. i can tell you wether they are good or bad in 2 seconds. everybody has a vibe or an aura you can pick up on. and i think that makes me special. it makes me different from everybody else. but i dont think it makes me crazy.
i had a neglected childhood as well, but its everything that happened in the past that made me what i am today. and i know i can do things that most people cant. its so hard to explain though. i just cant find the words to describe it.
as far as voices go, its like my conciousness is split in 2. one half is controlling all thought and the other is guiding it. telling it what it should be thinking about. its like my intuition has its own voice in my head. does that make sense? if i do what intuition tells me to do, great things always happen. but its not always there. sometimes it doesnt say anything at all, and sometimes i argue with myself over what to do. theres no explaination for it, its strange, but powerful. incredibly powerful.
i might just be crazy. i probably sound crazy, but i know i can do things that few can. my intuition has never failed me before. so if you are really anything like me, then do what you FEEL is right and not what you THINK is right. emotion is the key. listen to what your heart is trying to tell your head.
i for one dont think you are a psycho. but think about this for a minute. do you FEEL crazy or do you just THINK you are?

    Hi Raven

The term crazy is relative here. or should I say we all are a bit touched at times. Some more than others it would seem. There is a simple way to answer this.

Am I crazy? Only when I do not embrace my own power, control, and choices to become one within myself.

So ther answer is not getting blown away. Knowing you are responsable for all your choices, decisions, and actions and even if that is no choice at all but to willy nillie just act out of your own emotional whims.

I worked in a mental hospital while in nursing, and one day this man age 27 was admitted to the hospital. He was still dressed in his pajamas, and covered with his own excretment, and vomit. He had tried to commit sucide. I asked him why. He said because the voices told him too. I smiled, and picked up this stack of papers, and threw them at him. He raised his arms, and covered his face, and screamed, "Why did you do that?" I said because the voices told me too. He replied, "Thats was stupid." I said so was trying to kill himself. Just because the voices are their does not mean we do not have the mind to act out of wisdom, and truth, and not just emotions.

Everyone is psychic. Everyone is crazy. Just depends on where you choose to let your mind and thought dwell.

The voice has a name. He is Bruce and a spirit guide. He has many suggestions but in the end you take the glory and or blame for the choices you make and give yourself too.

Picking things up from people's eyes is very easy for me too. I've stopped making eye contact with people because after I do, for a few minutes all I can think about is their life, and sometimes I can feel their emotions from it too.

If you want to know if it's a mental disorder or not, just look inside for the answer. As long as you don't think you're crazy, and the voices aren't overwhelming you, then it's probably not a mental disorder.

Thanks you guys. I guess I'm trying to look for an answer that I can't really get. Like yes or no... but with something like this it's never going to be black and white like that. And that is the one thing that makes me so fustraited. Though after reading what you guys said I do feel a lot better.

Oh and btw Old Crone his first name is Blade not Bruce... I can see how you'd mix that up. I figured I didn't bother to mention the name since I thought it was irrelatvent. And yeah he's always ranting some kind of advice to me and I'm like ack no not listening I'm crazy! haha.

Though I think I'll follow what I feel instead of what I think like Deadman says. Doing that gives me peace of mind anyways...and I think for now that's all that matters. Thank you very much.

i don't hear voices, but i can feel vibrations really well off of people... like if i'm introduced to a shady person, i'll imediatly get a cold, depressing feeling and i sort of feel like something is trying to pull me away from this person, or pushing me.. or if i'm with a genuienly awesome person, i'll feel sunshine and warmth (even if it's night and we're in the cold) and i'll just feel really happy and comfertable, mellow, no need to get away..

i say this often, but only because its a powerful relization that helped me heal myself.

fear is the catalyst for insanity....dont be afraid of being insane, as fear feeds the shadows of insanity.

recognize that teh shaman and the schizo are very much alike, the only difference is the shaman is the healed mad man. meaning, he has released himself of fear.

iv been in the same spot and know it well. "am i crazy? or intune?" the answer i found was which ever path i chose to follow. i would also recomend meditation.

    RavenTheDarkAngel,

It sounds to me like you're suffering from Schizophreniform disorder.

while you experience auditory hallucinations it doesn't effect your social interactions, cognitive abilities, or your outward behavior.

    You're a classic case.

The origin of this chemical imbalance in your brain was triggered by a virus under conditions of stress.

The good news is that some people completely overcome this disease (under certain ideal conditions) and become quite productive citizens. The bad news is that some people (particularly men) hit the wall at some point and freak-out.

Those individuals we generally hear about or read about in the local news after they wipe-out their entire family
