Yep and he is getting some moderator warning points for trolling.

    Thanks Y'all.

I lost one of the 5 kittens yesterday and I have two more who aren't doing well. Keep your fingers crossed for them.

    unpopular opinion:

Outdoor cats are pests to the local environment. They poop everywhere, dig through trash and dumpsters which spreads litter through streets and alleyways, worst of all they decimate local bird/lizard/rodent populations. If you are feeding stray cats, but not participating in a TNR propgram you are contributing to the problem. I don't think they need to be killed off, but shouldn't be coddled either.

I'm sending good thoughts and prayers your way for your brood - the cats and family.

I can say in all honesty that I would do (or try my damnest to do) the same thing you are doing in your situation.

    Kudo's to ya, Aeri. <3

They also killed off alot of the mice and rats during the black plague......and helped get that in control.....and some birds kill cats.....birds of prey do......
and some lizards do, as well.

that they did :) they are not without their benefits for sure, but they were also not as overpopulated then as they are now, nor were indigenous populations of other species as threatened as they are now. I also don't think its fair to compare birds of prey killing cats to cats killing non birds of prey. At least from a numbers perspective, they would not compare.

Yes, caring for abandoned and feral cats does involve having them spayed/neutered.

I lost my little Rainy tonight.

I held her and kissed her until it was over. She cried so much during it and still all she wanted was to have her lips against mine.
    She did not go easily.

I just finished burying her in my Faery Garden, in a special little casket box with flowers on the lid. It's something I created years ago, Her grave is under a pile of big Quartz rocks.

Number 5, of six, is dying tonight and #6 doesn't seem to be feeling well.

I read on line that it can be something called Fading Kitten Syndrome and that it can take out the whole litter one by one.

I would if I could but can't for a few reasons not the least of which is my friendly but territorial cat who is about to be 18 and very set in her ways. I used to take care of my grandmothers feral cats who became her pets over time they grew so friendly but never were allowed inside (Though once in awhile they managed to sneak in)

If things don't work out for me with humans I'll probably end up the crazy cat man. As it is I talk to my cat more than any human. Cats make alot more sense than people.
