I understand Chomsky's position that people should focus on criticizing their own institutions with which they may be considered complicit. That's where the greatest chance of change comes.

Harris just wanted Chomsky to admit that the Bill of Rights is a much better framework than Sharia Law will ever be. This is a war of ideas.

People on the far left desperately want to believe all people are just people, who want the same things, the same freedoms.

These people want alchohol banned with harsh, harsh punishments for drinking. They want arranged marriages. They want women to be property of men. They want homosexuals out of the picture. They want people who speak against Muhammad to endure physical mutilation. They want people who try to leave the faith to be punished harshly. They want to have more kids than everyone else and ensure Muslim domination. There will be a place for Jews and Christians as dhimmis, just pay your extra taxes people of the book. I'd get rid of all faith schools. I think it's better that children learn in a secular environment. Kids should be taught a certain amount about different religions, but only as part of the general education process.

Harris is far too narrow minded and intellectually dishonest to be taken seriously, and his reasoning (for want of a more accurate term) is about what I'd expect from a man half or less than half his age. And how does he follow it up? He claims that anyone who won't come around to his way of thinking is obstructionist and barring the path of humanity's progress. What an asshole.

It’s interesting that those most vocally opposed to Islam (radical or otherwise) seem to be the most clueless when asked what they would do to deal with it., besides Gas’s " Kill 'em, Kill 'em all” which he claims is some type of joke however even taken as such it does not seem to be that helpful.

It seems to be the more tolerant that seem to be actually thinking about it rather than just scaremongering and seem to agree that education is the key.
