Pros And Cons Of Remembering A Past Life

I really am unaware of a time when I wasn't but I remember clearly a past life that I don't remember

My parents said I was born and they called me a name

Man they weren't nice to me back then

I wonder if that applies today

 

Man sometimes I think I said something stupid to the vacuum and then remembering my past life i remembered it was just then/now

I mean that is a pro right?

 

Pro: Knowing how to use the bathroom and shitting in your diaper anyway.

Con: Knowing how to use the bathroom but nobody thinks to take you there so you shit your diaper all the time.

 

The pro of knowing a past life is you don't have to learn it again the con is that keep sending you to school anyway

 

pro: There would be a lot of old souls to guide the new souls and the world might not be such a shite place.

con: Some people dont learn from the past, they just grow old and bitter and this would just happen exponentially if we all remembered our past lives.

imagine trying to work out all your past trauma in therapy.

 

Pro bitter folk don't learn from the past life because it's all they know con not enough people who like old cranky folks to teach them any thing new. like how not to be cranky

 

From what I gather about Buddhism, reincarnation happens until enlightenment is achieved. Your Dharma for the present life is to pay off the karma of your past life.

I am writing a novel about an American that was a high school football star, and given a scholarship to a college to play footfall for them. Instead he joined the Marines to go kill insurgents in the Iraq war, and then was killed by a roadside bomb. Then he found himself as a ghost wandering the deserts of Iraq. And there were all these other ghosts that were killed wandering the desert too. Many were Americans, and many more were insurgents. But they couldn't kill each other any more, because they were already dead. So this dead America starts talking to this dead insurgent, and they come to realize that all the stuff they had been taught about their respective religions was bullshit. The American was supposed to go to heaven and be with Jesus, and the insurgent was supposed to go to heaven and get 72 virgins for being a martyr for Allah. But instead there they were as ghosts. Then they were.....I'll tell ya later....
