Yeah I can walk down the road and see a deer, a hawk, a rabbit and even a car! :D every now and again I find wolf tracks and can track a wolf. I tracked a wolf a few years back on horseback. I even got to see it. I remember at the time wolves were coming up from the Italian alps. :)

i used to track foxes on a regular basis.....when i was a younger man....

sometimes i would track a fox for only 20 minutes and other times i would track a fox for up to 6 months.....i can remeber some nights tracking a dozen foxes before settling on my bounty....

little known fact....often there is a group of foxes and you have to seperate out the fit fox away from the fat and out of shape foxes....i would usually have a helper to divert the foxes i didnt want to track

Get a fake stuffed kitten and a mesh cage. Tape other cats you have or a speaker going out to the cage to attract the raccoon. Have it dark and throw out glow Sticks so you can see their eyes. Once thet/it is close, blow the mother fucker away!
If you miss/spray the cage, it's only stuffed and bait, but there will be a raccoon mess! I use this method on many varmints and works great.

I tried this already....catching my neighbors cat was hard enough but the tough thing was getting the tape out of the cats fur....poor guy had striped bald spots from the duct tape......next time I will use masking tape

Cats and Raccoon's are pretty smart. I would never be able to catch my cat in a trap.

the real plague is young urban professionals where I live....it is illegal to shoot them any more so you can only kill them with a car when they cross the road

The trap works great. I woke to find one of the porch kitties in it.

Now that cat will steer clear of it and I think the other two who were watching when I let it out will steer clear of it too.

That leaves that big old beat up raccoon.

I'm sure the young mother raccoon will be around during the afternoon as usual. I'm undecided what to do about her right now.

I've read it's no use trying to re-locate raccoons, that they usually make their way back.

There was a family of raccoons when I worked on the wash pad. They would not come out while I was working but if I was sitting right there doing nothing they would have no fear of walking right in front of me to grab the scraps while I waited for the next truck to come.

Same problem with Raccoons. I forgot to bring the cats food in and when I heard my cat in war mode, I jerked the door open and there were 4 of the suckers. One came after me and I had to tap him on the noggin to make him back off. And even when I bring the cat food in , as Aeri said--the water container is full of mud. I'm right in town, so I can't do anything radical.

Raccoons are like monkeys in that they use their paws like hands.

If you corner one that's big and pissed, watch out! It will come at you like a spider monkey! More so females. They are over populated and are varmits. Trap them, take them out and shoot them! Or they will keep coming back. Very aggressive varmits with who knows how many diseases it's carrying.
