I'm well aware that looks are the first thing that someone is going to see and be attracted to in most cases, doesn't mean that I can't think society is obsessed with it and places too much importance on it.

Hot is not the same as attractive. There are plenty of people I find attractive that I would not deem hot. That said, attraction is super important and no relationship can survive without it. Yes, looks fade and sex drives dwindle, but you have to at least have your memories of what attracted you to each other. Life is too short to be unhappy. I think there's someone out there to match to everyone, though. Attraction is so variable from person to person...

 

there are different types of intelligence. Some guys (and girls) are very smart academically but they have no social intelligence whatsoever. Or some have very esoteric interests that 99% of the population could care less about. A lot of girls, whether or not they're "hot" wont be able to relate to a guy like this - so why would it even be a loss on the guy's side that he doesn't end up with a superficially attractive women with whom he has nothing in common?

I dont really believe in the whole out of your league thing as far as looks, because attraction is so subjective, but I do believe it as far as interests and intelligence goes. If you're smart and you can't get some hot but dumb girl to sleep with you its because your intelligence is out of her league, not the other way around. But its also because you're superficial and sexist and went for the hot girl instead of the cute, smart, quirky one.

 

i always go for the cute, smart, quirky ones, but i'm not esoterically attractive enough. i would say my attractiveness is like that of a dumb person who's just smart enough to know how dumb he is. or maybe like chris carrabba without that voice, charm, charisma, sexy vulnerability, or as much money.

more likely, there's something curbing their sex drive. and being single is not necessarily related to intelligence. there are plenty of dumb people who are single.

also -- have you followed those guys around their whole life, for you to know they've been single all this time? the fact that they're unmarried till now doesn't say anything. a number of guys have no interest in marrying or having kids or settling down, they still fuck. unless you have their detailed sexual history, it's ridiculous to make any assumptions based on their marital status. and you don't have their sexual history. ergo, you're making completely baseless assumptions about them.

and, i have yet to see a hot guy (more intelligent or less) who is single because he can't land anyone. mostly, they're single because they want to be single (or haven't found the right person) or because they're socially inexperienced/awkward.

The trippy part comes when you work out there are some guys that prefer chubby chics becuase its more snuggly and well, as there is more of them, life is a lot easier. The majority of guys mig think like you, but not all.
