Thanks! It really is a haven. I miss it in winter. I still go for walks but it's too cold to sit and enjoy the water. Especially since the benches end up buried under the mounds of snow. Ugh, snow. Winter is coming. lol {{cries}}

    Here's a few pictures of the orchard I went to last week to get my apples.

    After I went to the orchard my mom and I took a little road trip over to Quebec to go to a cidery. We took the quyon ferry over to the Quebec side. Here's a few pictures of the ferry ride. It was only 10 minutes long, but still fun.

    And here's a couple pics of the cidery! I realize there aren't many fall colours in the pictures, but this was a very traditional fall day for my mom and I. Going to orchards and cideries is something we don't do much the rest of the year. This is the Coronation hall Cider Mills in Bristol Quebec.

    I didn't actually take many pictures of the outside, so I am including one of their apple press! My mom is considering ordering quite a bit of their fresh pressed cider, to make hard cider with, so they gave us a tour.

    I also picked up a bottle of their bristol light cider. It isn't sparkling so I think it will be more like an apple wine. I'm saving it for a special occasion.

    Sounds like a nice time. I bet it smelled good in the cidery.

    Here's he last few pics from that day. These are from the drive home. We drove back on the Quebec side to hull, then took a small bridge over to ottawa. The sky looked really cool on the way back. The last one is in Quyon (it's an old mill) and the other 2 are somewhere near Aylmer.

    Thanks :)

     Just walking through the woods when I notice a boulder sitting atop the local bedrock which from a distance I thought might be a glacial erratic, but I quickly discovered it was of the same composition

    That would have been neat to see! Can I ask, did you use a wide angle lens for that pic? I really have to get one. I can never get far enough away to get that much into my frame My eyes see a great picture and the camera just won't cooperate!

    Thanks. Powershots have a wider angle than DSLRs. You have to get a wide angle lens to get descent landscapes. They're not cheap though. One day.

    Here's a different kind of fall color! This is an annual event, held at the Statesville (NC) airport.
