Oh my Irmi I am so sorry. I agree with what Aeri said...I absolutely totally think we are capable of reaching through dimensions, especially in passing. That you "knew" that your grandfather had passed, as well as when your grandmother passed, tells me they would certainly reach out to you. I think those that have passed or are passing reach out the most to those that are receptive to/can feel them.

I can't imagine a greater blessing - to be able to pass away peacefully in the presence of family.

Irm I am saddened to hear your grandfather passed. [IMG]

It was heartwarming to read about him though and the good memories you have of him. He was a man loved by his family and those memories help when dealing with a loss.

The girlfriend got a new to her car. A used Subaru Impreza with all wheel drive. She brought me to the dealer to give my opinion and she saw me eyeing the turbo models. I think that's half the reason she got the normal automatic model so I don't go stealing it. It's also a lot less trouble to maintain she does not care about speed she would never use a turbo. It's alright I have my metal child already and it's better then a Subaru anyway. And now she won't get stuck in the winter. I'm just glad I went because she the sales man was old school. All kinds of shady sales tactics but I shut him down once he saw I knew a little about the subject. Car sales men tend to not respect women and my lady is great but she is an easy target.

She doesn't care about speed? Sounds like a keeper tbh. :D
Sounds like a switched on woman, with an understanding of road rules and safety.
    I like her already. ;)

Though I love motor sport, I believe, that street car racing and zooming around the streets to be a terrible habit. It's uncalled for and rude. And there's a very lack of responsibility for the family coming the other way, who just wants to return home or to their holiday destination, and some douche is trying to do something in a car that it wasn't designed to do. Even if your car is designed to "go fast" it's still not a race car. Has it got a roll cage? No, then it's not a race car. I don't care what sports model it is. If it's not designed to house a single instructor with a helmet then it hasn't been built for your street racing.

    Stick to video games. :)

Thanks for all the kind words guys.
I had a really good 6 hour rest this evening. Hmmmmaybe 5.5hrs with my tossing and turning. Still a lot more than I'd normally get. So I feel refreshed and now tiring myself out here now in a bath that's too hot. We have two doggy dates on tomorrow AM and PM. He's going to be really tired, but we are introducing him more often to the nice people looking out for him while we are gone. He pretty much has a gf, and he's very rough with her. :D and the determination in his eyes.. I don't know if I like it, he got one thing on his mind. -.- typical male. :D

It does happen. My first new car I took it in for service as it was under warranty. It was the first check and I drove it away and half way home it kept stalling out. I called my dad (I was 20) and he came and met me. Had it towed to the dealership and they tried to tell me that somehow someone must have stolen my air filter. In other words they never put one in when I had it service. My dad just about went across the counter at them as he was a mechanic by his first trade.

Needless to say, they replaced it and paid for the tow.

While I agree with your assessment about street racing, now... Back in the day, it's what we did. A lot of it, and with some very hot, highly modified cars. A few guys that I knew of did die doing this, luckily they didn't take out some innocent family in the process.

Yes, I had roll bars and sub-frame connectors in my 70 Trans Am and my 72 Duster "Pro-Street"... The Duster also had a 4 link rear suspension, additional bracing and fuel cell. My 67 Olds 442 was a full caged, modified dirt track race car that I wrapped factory sheet metal back around and put back on the street. All 3 cars had full driver and passenger safety harness also. So yeah, they were built for racing, I just so happened to drive them on the street.

The old school muscle cars were fine and when you guys did it, well from what I can relate with what I've heard and been told is you guys had your sectioned off areas and tracks too, and the police sometimes even knew about it but it was off somewhere where innocent folk wouldn't be hurt and not down suburban streets etc. and if drag racing on highway well there's like a zillion more cars and people on the roads now days, and for what it's worth, I've driven an older muscle car I think was for Mustang. Big orange thing and it was terrible to drive. :D so I've much respect for those who raced them. Nowadays it's like kids don't think a car can be fast if it doesn't have flickering LED lights on the steering wheels. :D

I rode in a car once that my brother in law had put a nitrous boost in. That was fun.

When I was younger I was much more into the whole "street race" thing. Being a teenager and in your mind bothering the cops is just too tempting to pass up. But you get older and see how crazy it is. I saw my friend wreck going over 100 MPH and the other car just kept driving. I am sure he saw the wreck he probably just knew the ticket for street racing is severe. I was the passenger in a car that slid off the side of a mountain. The only thing that stopped us was hitting a tree but about 1/3 of the car was hanging over the edge. We were stuck in the middle of nowhere until a truck came along and was nice enough to pull the car off the cliff.

If it's late at night I might have some fun in the corners around my house. But there is no one around and I do it at a fraction of the intensity I used to. But I don't need a roll cage. I want a gentleman's ride that looks classy. Roll cages are not classy.

My son is heading out to Las Vegas for 4 nights in a couple of days with his best friend. The best friend is going to be in some kind of computer/visual information presentation contest. Yeah, I don't really understand what it is...that's as close as I can get. ANYWAY...son is planning on hooking up with this thing where you drive a number of laps around a race track in a Corvette ZO6. There is supposed to be a trained person in the car too.

That woud be scary and fun.

Irm just reminded me how much I hate mustangs. My mom rented one last year (it was all they had left) and I got to try driving it. We both hated the damn car. It was uncomfortable, cramped and annoying to drive. If i sat with the seat upright so I could see properly, my forehead pretty much touched the windshield. It also had these gaudy lights in the doors that shone the Mustang logo on the ground wherever you went.
