so far, i've been in my lifetime: -Megan -Gem -meg* -rae -seed -moonjava and now i'm changing it. my new name. is... This This Rae Marcella.
That's a beautiful name. I once went by Nicole and took on a completely different personality. I was German and bossy.
because sometimes another name fits. i got tired of my given name.didn't fit. why should someone else name me anyways?
Here's a corny, but good qoute of mine for you: The name doesn't make the person; the person makes the name.
Keep the sig pic for a week so I won't be too confused. Otherwise I might confuse you with one of the little people,
That is quite a name. I love it. I could never go by anything other than Katie... the name has collected meaning over the years.
"A self-made man may prefer a self-made name." (Judge Learned Hand) Guess the same is true of girls too It's a very pretty name, I can see you as a Rae. Any special reason behind that choice? Totally know what you mean about picking something that fits. I think everyone should do like the native Americans; go on a vision quest then come back with something appropriate for the adult you. My given name was a spur of the moment choice, and never did fit quite right. So after much deliberation, or just intutive insight, I picked out Sage Cerridwen. Being libran ergo indecisive I still consider other things, but then there seems to be sign that says Sage is still perfect, I trust it.
My ex-father in law used to call me Shirley and I have no idea why. Have had people shorten my name to Cher. And a friends daughter calls me Sunshine and if she hears anyone call me by my real name (Cheryl) then she gives them hell...which is funny cuz she started it when she was 1 1/2. Been thinking of changing it to "Sunshine" legally.
Wow.. lol. For some reason, a fifth grade science teacher called me Charlie since I was in first grade and I never said that my name was George until I had him in fifth grade and he was like "WHAT!?!?!? Why didn't you tell me"
My oldest daughter's name is "Elizabeth" and all the family usually calls her Liz, but toward the end of 2nd grade she wanted to be called "Beth". The only one able to change was her teacher, everyone else was so used to calling her Liz that the name Beth never stuck so when she went back to school for 3rd grade she just excepted the name Liz again. But now she signs everything with the whole name "Elizabeth"
