I think my laptop died. Black screen. I am using Kierans because if I look at mine tonight I may throw it somewhere real bad.

I want to clarify a point I made last night about "qualifying" on the range because I think maybe this isn't the most positively receptive crowd to that topic (hippies....fair enough...I love the mentality and I think my history speaks for itself). It was a class I was taking and the qualifying part (while fun) was the last part. It doesn't mean I'm some right-wing militia nut or plan on being armed at all times. I certainly am not and do not. But I do think that educating yourself is important and that doesn't just apply to things we are comfortable with. I am not someone who ever carries a weapon and I probably never will but I do think the course was very informative, I learned quite a bit about a good variety of topics and....even as someone who is trained in different disciplines....I learned a lot about things that I hadn't considered before and some of those things are clearly the most important legal issues...even if you never own any type of weapon.

So I'm kind of just trying to make sure you guys don't think I'm going all "right-wing nut job" on you but also trying to say that the legalities shouldn't be something we shy away from. Education isn't a bad thing. I have a lot of free time. You never know when you need to know the law.....so maybe we should know it? We should at least try.

 

I don't really even know what that means. I'm sure it means something to people who have cable or something.

 

ive seen just about every video and picture of the paris attacks and bataclan massacre that is out there and finally there is one good one out now

security cam of the cafe shows one attacker gun jams and the lady gets up and runs away...that is one lucky lady

I'm not even watching or listening to that shit. I've tried to not hear anything about it but you can't even avoid it on NPR. It seems constant and that tells me that we should be asking what we are not talking about right now. I'm betting that on the evening of Thanksgiving...at maybe 9 pm....when nobody is paying attention....there will be some news story about things that occurred this week which are much more important that what is being discussed right now and nobody will even notice or care.....like when the Patriot Act was resigned. It was an afterthought.

 

I was going to say "Fuck it!" and not go to work today because it's Friday and a big storm is rolling in but....sigh....that's actually more of a reason for me to be there today. Dammit! I'll catch you cats later.

I think there are a lot of us who have firearms, nothing wrong with that as long as we are not shooting each other.

I played this morning with my laptop and figured it was the video card on the mobo. Went in and saw a tech guy I have known and used for years and he confirmed that is the problem. Since the graphic cards are integrated into the mobo it is not worth fixing as a new mobo is almost the cost of a new computer. I will have him transfer the data to my external drive though.

I went this afternoon and bought a new laptop. It has 8.1 on it. It was hard to find one that was not already upgraded to 10. I just finished the basic set ups I need to run it. Now I need to weed through the windows ones I want and don't.........uck.

For the past week, I've been overtaken with anxiety when I try to rest. I close my eyes to fitful sleep, constantly waking to panic attacks about things that seem minor during the daylight hours. I've been getting so little sleep in between these night terrors, and can't get comfortable in my bed. It's been terrible, have never had this issue before! I'm exhausted as I type this...

 

I hope it improves for you soon as interrupted sleep is not great health wise. Maybe you could try to increase your serotonin as the change is seasons may not be helping.

 

I hope so too! It makes me even more depressed and snappy, which just doesn't work for my job. I realize I've always taken easy sleep for granted.
