Too early for ice storms, east of the Blue Ridge. Not until December here, more likely January.

All the places you talked about going in Virginia and NC are east of the Blue Ridge, which divides the milder climate area from the mountain region. It's already not too early for light snow on the tops of our highest mountain peaks.

I just need to get into kid mode again as I know that then I loved winter. Sledding, fort building, snowball fights, skating, skiing and hot chocolate.

I actually do not mind winter for the first bit but after about 4 months, I am not so thrilled with the heavy clothing and snow removal. I almost forgot the driving conditions.

Spring can come early, yup. :)

I guess my trip is sinking in now that I've got the weather set up on my phone, but Alabama Talladega was just as cold as it was here last night. That means a jumper and at least jeans. 4*. :D not meant to get that brisk again though from what I see. At the moment. And it's meant to rain on Sunday. Boo.

    Winter? What's that? :D

In our winter 10-15c is freezing cold. I would love to see snow one day though.

I admit I did a lot of back-breaking shoveling with 115 inches last winter, but it had it's moments

I have one and a very good one, but it doesn’t work well when the drifts are 5 feet tall, besides I still have to shovel the stairs

My parents bought a really good snowblower a couple years ago, and it doesn't get much use for the same reason. It also doesn't work on the street slush pile that get's snowplowed across the end of the driveway every morning and then freezes solid. We have had to ice chip our way out more than once.

It's cold here tonight. It's not even *really* that cold... but the humidity... and the wind... really throws a damper on things. Quite literally. It was in the lower 20's in Colorado and I didn't feel nearly as cold as I do here when it's in the mid/upper 30's. Maybe it's attributed to my anxiety? Maybe it's because I haven't been eating right lately? Maybe it's because there wasn't as much tension in the air as there is here back at home.

    Speaking of tension...

    How 'bout them holidays??

    :D

I just keep reminding myself that in a few days it will be the darkest day of the year then the days start getting longer again. Winter his its own unique charm though and makes spring and summer that much better in contrast - no light without dark heat without cold

But I need money and these rich people pay me to shovel their driveway so I say LET IT SNOW! HAHA

Sure, it's fun if you get to frolic in the snow. But when you have to go to work in it every day, shovelling for an hour (including picking away at the ice at the end of the driveway from the snow that the city snowplough kindly left that froze overnight, so you don't slice your tires) and cleaning off your car before work (usually scraping sheets of thick ice off the windshield as well), driving in the horrid stuff, cleaning off the car again in the parking lot after work (scrape, scrape, scrape), getting home and having to shovel for another hour.

On the mountaintops, Piece, on the mountaintops!

    Cute heart, though. :)
