I tried playing my Xbox One again recently for really the first time in couple years. Bought Fallout 4 and Batman. I'll probably trade it in at some point. I use my Xbox One for apps like Netflix, Amazon, Pandora etc but I also recently got Chromecast so I can use that instead. I don't know how much use I'll get out of this Xbox before it's completely outdated and worthless.

I can't really get into it anymore. Not much new and exciting happening with gaming IMO. You have this rad medium where you're limited only by how far you can stretch your imagination and creativity and yet 99% of games are the same shit; FPS with new maps slapped on, new weapons etc, RPG's with a new coat of paint and the same mechanics that have been in use for the past 10-20 years. You have your sports shit and that's about it.

None of this is really new. Been done a thousand times before. There seems to be only one "idea pool" when it comes to developing games and that idea pool is pretty much tapped at this point IMO. It's just developers reaching back into that pool to choose from maybe a dozen age-old and spent formulas, selecting the one they want to roll with, dusting it off, throwing some new paint on and repackaging it as something "new".

I find the creativity in games - at least as compared to the potential for creativity in video games- to be sadly, sadly lacking.

I used to be hella into games too! However they just don't seem to do much for me anymore. I want to like them and I keep trying to- I really do. But meh.

Retro games and systems now are selling for a fortune.

What is old is now again new as the younger generation are going retro. :)

Last time I read a book was on the plane ride back to Europe and that was late November.

I want to play games but I couldn't be bothered wasting time sitting there and playing when I think about playing them. You always seem to need like 90mins minimum spare time to put into a game and that 90 minutes is life, man. I actually want to get into fallout 4, I have it and played for a couple of hours but I just can't get myself to play it....so I walk into the garage and play pool instead.

Retro gaming is expensive now but it you get the retron console like I did last year then it's relatively cheap because it plays several cartridges over 3 platforms. The game I really wanted to play struggled though and I think was a bad copy, so I never really played the retron either.

I've gotten back into the habit of reading recently. I've just breezed through a lot of Toni Morrison's stuff, some Faulkner, and a really outstanding memoir. I missed it <3.

I was supposed to start a book this afternoon but I fell asleep instead after having dinner with this lovely female couple. I think we made new friends, good friends, friends I see us being friends with... so I'll take that over the book for tonight anyway. :)

I can't even find my 4th loach now so I assume my ugly bristlenose has eaten him. After just doing some research yes I think or sure it's eaten it, well I think it died first and then it was eaten. And I also am missing a 4th black widow tetra and cannot find it anywhere and I read the bristlenose will make a quick meal of dead fish. I don't really mind about the black widow, I want to phase them out anyway but I don't know what to do with the bristlenose. He's a big nasty bully! And he bullies the other smaller one but they do clean the tank. I guess if it leaves my small loaches alone and they can grow then it'll be okay but it's like he hunts them too, chases them around a bit. Wouldn't surprise me if one of the loach just swam into its ugly mouth.

I did exactly the same thing. Played it for like 2 hours. Realized "huh, this actually kinda sucks." I've played this many, many times before.

Story is flimsy as all fuck and the shoot & loot suff has been completely spent and exhausted as a genre. The dialogue options and freedom were a nice try (though half-assed) but IMO it's meaningless when no matter which path you forge the dialogue is cheesy as fuck, the characters are flakey and there's only a cheap shell of a story. It's hard to care. I should invest how many hours for this?

My life is utterly and completely smudged by this here Goloka nag champa. I burn this every day, continually throughout the day, for years. This is by far the best incense I've ever come across. And I've sampled extensively. So much better than the Satya nag champa. Never gets old
