14 Year Old Muslim Boy Arrested By Texas Authorities

my thread was not intended to be an indictment of all America.s, just Texans. I am old enough to remember the white only bathrooms and drinking fountains. So racism has been real for in my life. I even remember my Jewish class mate referred to by others as Joey Jewy.

 

Hate is hate. If you hate a whole state, you're still expressing sheer bigotry. Which makes the point of this difficult to quantify. Is your bigotry the "good" kind of bigotry?

 

I did not say that I "hate" the whole state of Texas, or all its population. I said it is full of Bigots. You seem to have a problem with conventional formal logic. I comment on the behavior of one, or a hundred, or a thousand. There are many things that I do not like about Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and Israel. However, this thread is about what had happened to that 14 year old boy, thus Texas. And this site is all about free speech, not free hate.

 

Not sure why this post is liked by a person I thought to be relatively smart (Gas ) but even a turd can recognize that the racist talk was not directed at the white house and your president. Also some opposite reactions like a friendly social media invite does not make all the racist comments and convictions disappear or bogus. You are either really bad at critical reading or indeed deliberately misinterpreting things. Maybe I was wrong and it simply is the first. But then I would advice you to take more time to use your brain and maybe read everything twice.

Well it appears then that hateful and disturbed people can sometimes make a valid point as well (not saying I agree with all his posts or points at all). Stormountainman was talking about the texan people in the media (I'm sure he did not ment literally every Texan, as I am sure you understand as well), not the white house and the president. If those racist, bigoted and/or islamophobic people and the media didn't react so preposterous it is arguable your president would have gone out of his way to invite this kid.

News Flash: Getting a few haters from all walks of life is a consequence of being famous, especially for controversial reasons. But of all the hate mail and negative publicity he has received, it doesn't amount to the crowd funding he's collected from his overnight fan base to litigate the Irving school and police department. And yet again you call out the whole state and suggest it's full of bigots. Try to find a state that is devoid of bigotry or prejudice. I'm not even from Texas and couldn't care less about it as a pride issue. But I will say your expressions, while you deny they are hateful, are certainly not "love" either.

 

Dear Panic, I have been to Texas many times. My opinion was formed after much interaction with the locals. It was also formed after learning that Texas Governor Rick Perry has a family ranch named "The ****** Ranch" after his favorite black horse. Moreover, I never said I loved Texas. There are parts of Texas that I like for geographic reasons. There are people whom I like there; however, they are not representative of the majority. In contrast, one could take a ride up to Portland or Seattle, where folks are jovial and welcoming.

 

It still sounds like you are using a few examples to judge the whole. And the Perry thing is about as isolated as it gets, proof that super wealthy people are out of touch in monumental ways. I have worked in Texas many times writing about boring crap like oil, pipes, valves and container cranes. The majority of the vocal prejudices I heard there came from minorities and was squarely directed at white people. Which is a real shame actually because they seem to get a pass on it. Hatred, racism and bigotry will not just vanish and it certainly isn't going away if 1 side is restricted from it while everyone else tosses it out like candy. At some point all sides have to let go of the hate.

Unfortunately this kid Ahmed has been turned into a hatred amplifier. And for no good reason. Simply to paint Americans as evil once again. It's really sad when you consider the US charitably feeds more people on this planet than any other nation either directly or by advancing crop sciences. Much of our talent is simply given away to benefit the people of earth. Still, Americans are hated and the roots of it start in small minds.

I live in Texas and everyone that truly knows this is all just call it Muslim Hysteria....Being from this state I will call it what it is racism...Some people said if it had been a white boy it would have drawn no attention, that is very correct...I noticed one reply about inviting all the poor kids tho the White House..Obama is not going to raise the ire of his Muslim Brethren....

He is from Texas and HE KNOWS racism first hand. In addition to what has happened to this 14 year old school boy, there have been multiple shooting and killings of Muslims in Texas. Texas is an extreme hate state. I see racial hatred every week, like he does. But, WTF, here on Hipforums we are not allowed to talk about race. There are many here who think America is just a dandy spot in this modern world and everything is just hunky-dory. No sir, there is no racism here. It does not exist. We don't need laws for racism. All dem nice white folks are nice. They just want us to use separate but equal bathrooms and ride at the back of the bus. MOST white people you will find on the earth today are NOT racists. Let that sink in. And even when slavery was legal in he US, well over a century and a half ago, MOST white people didn't own them and a growing majority were absolutely against it, but were powerless to change it. But ultimately it did change, for the better. Somehow, I get the feeling that's just not good enough for you.
