And yet another reason I sick of mushroom pickers who don't know what the fuck they are doing. You have no idea what you picked and yet you picked 2 boxes of it? What a waste. You better throw those back outside to distribute the spores at least.

You never pick all the mushrooms in a mushroom patch, take what you need and leave the rest. What you need to identify something is maybe 2 mushrooms, a young one and an old one.

Jesus christ, really, I dont have really any friends that are experienced with mushrooms, hence why my intentions where to look for mushrooms once last week, post them on a forum and get help with identifying, had no luck.
Stumbled across a patch a 2nd time, done the same thing hoping i'd have better luck.

Can someone not post onto this site looking advice without someone complaining for litterally no reason at all, you've read what I've said and are still looking past it just for the sake of complaining, while everyone else has helped me.

I never said I knew what I was doing, so I couldn't care if you're 'sick of mushrooms pickers that don't know what they're doing', cause I wasn't intending on eating whatever I found right away.

No you're not eating what you found at all. You blindly picked an entire patch of mushrooms with no care for the ecologic impact whatsoever. There are many resources online that you could have found before mushroom picking that would tell you these things, yet you just go stomp around in the woods and destroy stuff before you have any idea what you are doing.

I also have no friends experienced with mushrooms. That's why I did my research FIRST.

    LOL..
uhh, you do realize that the "mushroom" is nothing more than the fruiting body of the fungi and that the main body of it lives underground as a mesh of mycilieum.
Picking all the shrooms at one spot isn't going to make jack-shit of an ecological impact....LOL

ecological impact from picking a few mushrooms....[IMG]

PLUS given the fact that most mushrooms quickly die and decompose in sunlight, picking all the specimens from a plot that may be worthwhile is a lot smarter than picking one or two and coming back later to find mush and then maybe having to wait days for another bloom,if it does at that time.

The way you are going on about it you would think the guy just took a baseball bat to the last surviving snow seal or some shit.
reel it in a bit, your being silly.

And while the mycelium underground does mean you haven't killed the whole fungus, picking an entire patch actually can mean it won't return in future years.

I think this more proves my point that you're complaining for the sake of complaining.

in effect you're actually helping the mushroom procreate by picking it, considering you're physically moving the spore producer farther away from its origin

You know, I don't doubt that you are a goddess of mushroom knowledge and that you are one with Gia and all that but fuck, you think you could at least comment/respond in a civil tone?
Yeah, we get it. There are people out there that don't know as much as you do about mushrooms and all these "stupid" people keep asking all these "stupid" questions and doing all these "stupid" things.
We're not worthy. We got it.
But could you just take a moment and realize that at least there are those who have enough sense to ask when they come here?
You don't teach or pass on wisdom by berating or browbeating or talking down to people.
I'm sure that if I got to know you, I'd find that you're a really nice person and all, but could you get over yourself just a little bit?
Thanks. We all really appreciate it.

First post... You really joined the site just to scold MatteKat? damn right you're not worthy

It blows my mind all the years on these forums how many "can you identify my mushroom" threads.

People, you're sitting at a computer with the world wide web at your fingertips, for fucksake!

Yeah stupid, I mean you! Learn some search skills.

Watch, I just type in "identifying psilocybin mushrooms"...

Bam, here ya go...Psilocybin Mushrooms of the World

    1) where in the world are you so we can determine what mushrooms grow in your area.

    2) are you hunting in well manured areas or are you just plucking random mushrooms off your lawn.

The easier to identify active species grow on manure.

Start with telling us where your are looking and we can start helping you zero in on magic
