I don't have kids but I am unemployed. I do some work here and there, I get trades mostly. I got so fed up with the ER not helping me one time that I tried to dismember myself with an very tiny group of explosives in the ER. Scared the fuck out of everybody!

It's better to be very conscious about that and not doing anything except nag on every one who doesn't seem as aware

 

Well as I sit here, back in pain 24/7/365, can feel the vertebra grinding together when I move, guts messed up so that if I eat the wrong thing I enjoy 16-18 hours of cramping, shitting and vomiting about every 20 minutes often to the point of shitting/vomiting blood, hurts when I eat, hurts when I don't eat.
Typing this is painful thanks to the nerve damage in my right arm that has my hand numb 100% of the time and in excruciating pain 70% of the time to the point of preventing sleep. Driving is LOADS of fun with my wonderful back and arm!
Then I have the nice sharp chest pains about 3-5 times a week.

and that's just what is currently bothering me as I sit here typing, so when I read PR whine and complain about a sore throat only one thought goes through my head,
"Man, what a pussy, grow a set and stop whining"

Some things are more important than money. Health, for example. But not here. Here it is all money, all the time.

Get rid of a few war toys, cut out the pork in proposed bills and health for all could become a reality. When does morality or lack thereof enter the discussion? (rhetorical question, of course)

I hate to tell you this but the poor and old and disabled are not reaping the benefits you think your money is going to help. It's nice to hear someone care but I am old and disabled and Utah took all dental care away from us. All they will do is pull a tooth after it rots. I had to go by ambulance 6 miles to the hospital. I have to pay it. 1200.00 for a 6 mile ride. The clinics , yes clinics not the dr you choose makes you wait forever then tells me my insurance won't cover a heart monitor. I am home in dental agony with heart palpatations that hit so hard I cough. So as nice as you are about wanting to help, I am sorry you are not. My daughter and son in law pay almost 600 per mo for family insurance. They will still owe over 3000.00 for their new baby coming in June. That's with the best his company offers. Obama is s puppet as is any president that skims off programs. Republican Democrat no matter. My son is a decorated war vet who gave up trying to go 200 miles to wait forever for substandard care. This country is lost. I doubt it's even savable at this point. And when the desperate get really desperate, and they will. You won't be safe because you haven't had to be desperate. We will be like the walking dead loading guns if we still have them and protecting our homes as long as we can hold out. The people doing this to us will be long gone.

 

I tore muscles in my lower back when I was 22, never been the same since plus degenerative discs.
I inherited the Celiacs disease that tears my guts up.
My arm is a combo of a broken wrist at age 24 that wasn't set properly (no $$$ for doctor) and years of physical labor/keyboarding has left me with carpel tunnel syndrome from hell.
My chest pains, who knows, when you raise 6 kids any money for medical goes for the kids first.
and just general overall wear and tear/age.

desperate? who's to say i haven't? luckily i've been in good health for most of my life but that's not to say i haven't had to foot my own bills when it comes to med care. basic coverage is all i have ever had. those that really benefit now are the insurance companies, the docs and the hospitals. there is most likely leaching in there that's how they roll.... all I'm saying is it's a start, not A1 healthcare. i served as well, but what's done is done, this country has not done much for the soldiers that fight for it since WWII. more could be done, but baby steps is how we're going to get there

 

When you're in good health and have money (and are not confronted with the less fortunate) the system always appears great
