Interesting video here Apparently no one will have a job in 50 years time https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7Pq-S557XQU
I've been trying to get a job for a while and I sent out my cv to almost 1k businesses. I've already been rejected by nearly every business in my geographic location. They say I have no experience except a few mcjobs. Even unpaid apprenticeships and internships require prior relevant experience. A good reason to stay put is it's a waste of time to look for a job. It's work but without getting paid. I can spend that time enjoying my AUTISMbux and learning how to trade forex like in the NEET vs wageslave diagram.
I thought I'd put a post up here a while back. But for some reason, I can't find it. Anyway, another option is take a job while doing a business on the side. Example: I knew someone who worked for a big company and sold clothes on the side. It went so well, he gave up his job to sell the clothes. Only thing was, his "friends" weren't really friends. And he lost that ready made customer base to sell his stuff. Plus he lost his shit wage income. So it was a double hit. ____________ Moving on, you could say there's a solution to every problem. Becoming a trader (one that trades with proper risk parameters) isn't overly easy. Atleast if you want to be assured of capital growth. You may find you can do different things as a business before one really takes off. I can think of plenty of very smart people who realised that applying for 1000s of jobs would be a mug's game for them.
I don't think I've ever agreed with you before...but spot on, man. Anywo, to answer the OP, I don't think anyone should milk the system, it kind of pisses me actually because it justifies the demonization of people who actually need benefits. But I think if you do need thebbenefits and treat it as a hand up, actually do something with your time like J.K Rowling did, or if you can find a way to get by without benefits and without working a traditional job then that's fine too. But it irritates me to hear someone contemplate continuing to take benefits or to get a job. I just don't feel like someone who has the luxury of making that decision should be getting benefits at all.
I'm living in a western society too and I don't see how the government is deliberately keeping talented people unemployed. I feel the same way as this ^. If it's a choice you should get a job. Otherwise you are part of the problem and are 1) justifying anti-welfare people's often disastrous and very negative view on social benefits, and 2) using welfare money that should go to people that really need it. If you really need the benefits and see no other option you are entitled of them and can make use of them without shame.
I have experienced the same in the Netherlands. With a shitty resume I didn't get invited for the actual interviews a lot and it was economic crisis here too (so they generally could pick and choose). I also have no trouble enjoying my free time so doing fun things instead of looking for a job seems less wasteful of my time on the short term too yes. I tried callcenter work and would refuse a job like cleaning toilets for minimum wage anyday. It is all still no excuse to leech on your country's social benefits and do nothing. Now, if you were actually trying to learn a trade on the side that would already be a slight difference. But I hope it is not just a remark with which you are fooling yourself (or maybe just others).
Its basic economic doctrine that is employed today. In Britain it started with some clown called Keith Joseph under Thatcher. Low unemployment means higher wage demands. Which means (acc to right wing govts) less of the cake for their friends. Its relevant across an economy and in individual sectors. The right wing press rarely mention it bluntly, more in a roundabout way. The governor of the Bank of England got into trouble when he mentioned it more explicitly. Here's some examples. Economics textbooks http://www.economicshelp.org/blog/1364/economics/phillips-curve-explained/ The right:- http://www.ft.com/cms/s/0/a8c715b2-c716-11e3-889e-00144feabdc0.html#axzz4AKQi7Rql And from the left:- http://www.livableincome.org/unemployment.htm With a more skilled workforce today and the option of foreign labour or even exporting jobs to China etc, employing all talented young people in the home country is not desirable to certain decision makers who follow the current economic models and desires. One trade off in this class war by govt is that eventually you get social instability eg gun crime and ghettoes in America. Or grads deciding to be coke dealers etc So the main leeches are actually those that watch grads get trained up, watch em spend a fortune at college after feeding them a pack of lies about how vital it is to get educated ie the groups pulling the strings of the govts.
Take your talents and your passions and find a way to make them profitable. I know how job hunting can be very frustrating and taxing on one's self esteem. Getting turned down for job offers after putting in so much preparation work to get in the door, and all that. But I find myself much happier when I'm working and making my own money than when I'm relying on others, mostly because of the satisfaction of doing my part. And when I buy something with the money I make, it feels much more rewarding.
