using my password generator program recursively, by using its own output as an input for the prefix string, you can generate more complex strings like this:

#fully expanded

pgen -l8 -UL -n -C4 -c4 -p$(pgen -l4 -D -i'abcdef' -n -p$(pgen -l4 -D -i'abcdef' -n -p$(pgen -l4 -D -i'abcdef' -n -p`pgen -D -i'abcdef' -l4`-)-)-)-

which produces this output, when ran 4 times, for a total of 16 random strings in groups of 4. (you won't in a million years get THIS EXACT SAME output, even if you ran the program over and over ... it would be an extremely rare coincidence if you did)

theoretical probability of rolling any number on a six sided die is 6-1 ... probability of rolling 3 sixes in a row 6-3, or in other words 1 over 216.

That is the theoretical probability of consecutively producing the same result after i iterations from any function or event that produces a random result (such as rolling die) can be computed by the expression below, where p is the number of possible outcomes for the event e, i.e. the reciprocal of P(e):

Recall that in the movie pi .... max came up with a number 216 digits long, and apparently the true name of God is 216 letters long ...

only problem is that strings like that aren't very user friendly for people, and hard for us to remember.

So for passwords of length l using only uppercase, lowercase and digit characters, each character has n possibilities (in this case 62).

The probability of guessing the password and getting all 16 characters correct can be computed as such

The theoretical probability of guessing quickly becomes very small numbers with many 0's in them, e.g. 1.84 x 10-13 . So we better try every single one of them, eventually we will try the right password, but what if we don't know the length? We have to try small passwords first, then work our way up, trying all 1 character passwords, 2, 3 ... up until however long the password is. How many attempts would it take if we iterate through all 1 character passwords, then all 2 character passwords, 3, 4 ... up to a certain x length password where x is the upper limit on password length:

This applies to any type of key as well where you don't know the length ... very large numbers when x tends toward being very large. If the password happened to be 8 characters in length we would have to try 2.21 x 1014 passwords. My Ti-84 overflows when the limit x is very large, but a 20 character string would require trying 7.15 x 1035 unique strings, statistically we would likely find the string somewhere in the "middle" ... so we could at best cut it half to give a rough estimate but the order of magnitude is still the same, a number with 35 zeros.

Here's a 216 digit number:

989718244690005259790062882550444709142566646482429367019846646302221932372153307411707980302910835750046562524550839735424782996659388418165498696736505826673162711907593127730005019613537674982112782583219366890389

Max printed it out and threw it away and it was later found in his trash and apparently pretty damn important. Be careful what kind of numbers you throw in your trash ;)

I'll leave it to an exercise for the reader to determine if it would be faster to try every password iteratively, or to repeatedly generate random passwords hoping to get the right one ....

Just looked it up, .

Side effects can include dilated pupils, blurred vision, hallucinations, confusion, combative behavior, and difficulty urinating.
Severe toxicity has been associated with coma and seizures, although death is rare.

Whoever can find the error in the math above deserves a prize. I know what it is, but I can't fix it because I can't edit the post. very simple thing that makes a lot of difference. most of its right though, you can cover up the mistake with your finger and it will be correct: (hint: its in the probability expression)

Greek would be more accurate, as strange math characters tend to be greek letters.

The general term on the product series doesn't need k as an exponent in the denominator.

I think this is better...and i think that it is is true, though I am very tired. I think this fixes the mistake.

it was not gypsum weed, it was morning glories or Hawaiian baby woodrose seeds, they are the one that contain LSA.

I think the correct name is Jimson Weed. When I was in high school one boy came seriously near dying in the hospital from drinking tea made of it.

yes, you can get very deliriously high(?) from jimson weed, Datura is the plant's real name, and Belladonna also is related to it.
But the stuff mentioned in hotwater's article is morning glory seeds, not jimson weed. that is what I meant.

Random Thought: and or things that make you say Hmmmm…

When overweight people decide to go swimming in the nude, is it called fat dipping as opposed to skinny dipping?

forget about that summation b/s .... that is wrong in several ways and not equivalent to the first two, and I can't think of how to make it work since the denominator is outside of the summation. it only works when the probability of each favorable outcome in the series {sk} is the same ... the first two are correct though.

You might be able to use it to tell you what the probability is of your life happening exactly the way it has up until this point.

Very improbable things happen ALL the time.

An old time family friend of mine it emerged was a key player of a 70m pounds (or much more) fraud.

We'd all sort of avoided him in recent years but in the past he was effectively my "uncle" as a kid because my blood relatives lived so far away.

For many years I'd told people "stay away from him, he is a scammer, he should be banned from the law, he is a scumbag". I knew his "pension plan" would be a big scam robbing money from his clients. Turned out I was right.

It might sound bad but I kind of hope someone kills him. I know I would if someone had stolen from me in the way he did others. Unfortunately, the authorities are just as guilty for letting him do his shit for so long.

I've just thought. He's divorced. The one daughter is on trial with him.
And the other one is like this boho chic charity worker who'd refuse the money, and hates him.

Maybe I was a bit quick in passing judgement. : - /
Certainly before the will had been checked... : D

Hiker Killed By More Than 1,000 Bees

A 23-year-old man was killed on a hike in Usery Mountain Park in Mesa, Arizona, after he was attacked by a massive swarm of bees on Friday. The medical exam revealed the Louisiana man was stung by more than 1000 bees.

The incident played out Thursday morning as the 23-year-old man, Alex Bestler, hiked with his friend Sonya, the Republic reported. The bees apparently appeared without warning.

Bestler's friend escaped safely to a bathroom close by, but the 23-year-old was engulfed by the swarm of bees before he could make his way to shelter, officials said.

A hiker and park employees attempted to approach Bestler — who was lying on the ground overtaken by the bees — but the swarm was so aggressive it forced them to stay back, the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office said.

Can someone explain to me please. Why do I attract such utter, utter, UTTER SCUM into my life?

Am I really that bad a person? Christ I do try my best to be good. Even if some of you don't believe me. Maybe thats where I went wrong.

My hands are shaking right now. I can feel my pulse without even touching my arms. My mouth is as dry as a desert.

I feel like I'm in a parallel world where everything has changed from black to white. And vice versa.

Woke up this morning, just about to be murdered. In the dream. A REALLY lucid one too.

I was in Africa, some shithole. Anyway, the national religion was "Zombie". Yeah they'd taken one aspect of Voodoo.
All these African tribesmen were walking like zombies and would be killed. Everyone had to walk at some point.
Anyway, the UN passed a law to say there should be exceptions to this national law, if you so desired it.

The exception was that you would not be zombie culled if you were an Olympic athlete. So.. I started long jump. BUt I remember holding a pole vault pole.
However, the "religious police" decided Olympic sports were illegal and punishable by summary execution, with a spear. So here I was trying to practice Olympic long jump, without anyone noticing me. While the zombies walked to certain "re death".

Naturally, it wasn't long before my back was gettng aquainted with the sharp end of a spear. And thats when I woke up in a cold sweat!

If anyone can possibly decipher this I'll give them a prize.
