No matter what the supposed reason, there is no justification for these actions. My heart goes out to all of the people who have been personally touched by this as their lives will never be the same again.
Go here and listen to the song Melissa Etheridge wrote about this tragedy. http://www.rollingstone.com/music/news/hear-melissa-etheridges-chilling-pulse-dedicated-to-orlando-victims-20160615 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kAI9nskUIfo
http://www.fox19.com/story/32233126/case-western-students-create-mural-to-remember-orlando-victims “Painting the names on this wall was one of the hardest things I've ever had to do. I would have to stop every few minutes just to take in what I was doing, that each letter that I wrote, it encompasses someone's story. I think it's important everyone remembers they're not just names,” Tesfai said.
How much more blood does the Red Cross actually need? Of course it's better to have too much donated blood than too little. But there comes a point when the casualties no longer need any more. I remember after 9/11 the Red Cross had an excessive surplus of blood, and there weren't many survivors to give to, so they had to dispose of it because blood has a shelf life.
Which is what this is really all about. Yet no one seems to say it, even gay guys, even though they deal with it every day. Even if they say they are tolerant and all that, the ones that are like that still will get pissy and sour even jealous with you. Yet no one seems to call them out on it, enough anyway. Same kind of dynamic between some guys and the ladies, it's always some moral highground B.S. rather than admitting they are pissy they can't get a girlfriend or a particular girl...Yet evenyone always seems to lap up the moral high ground excuse. That combined with: there was another this week, forget where, the one that got subdued by a true hero with some pepper spray. Dickhead was saying he was so excited he was finally doing this (another school shooting somewhere) So sexual frustration combined with knowing they are a loser who isn't going to get anywhere in life. No BS about ISIS.
My daughter has been talking with me alot in the past 24 hrs. She has sadness, anger, and fear. She's been invited out this weekend but she is afraid to go. She's afraid of another shooting. There's been talk of two of Atlanta's gay bars being next. She's afraid of a copycat doing that. She won't go out because she'd be constantly watching the room and scoping out everybody and their every move. It sucks that she is fearful. Nobody likes to dress up and go out any better than she does. Her safe places have been taken from her. The places where she can go and feel utterly free don't exist in her mind anymore. She's even talking about being fearful of going to Pride this year. I told her that hubby and I would be there with her like always if she decides to go.
Yeah, he was mentally ill - what a senseless loss of life. The signs were there as early as elementary school when he threatened to kill all of his classmates, just as they were with Seung-Hui Cho (The VT Shooter), Dylann Storm Roof (The Charleston Church Shooter) who told friends in advance of the shooting but no one took him seriously, Adam Lanza (The Sandy Hook Shooter) James Holmes (The Theatre Massacre) in Aurora, Colo. - the list is far too long to mention everyone........... Hotwater
I saw that Obama ordered that flags be flown at half staff in response to the Orlando event. I thought that was a very Presidential response. He and Biden also visited Orlando to console the victims. He even hugged some of them, Obama that is, I don't know what Biden did. I found that to be very uplifting and it showed love, support, and remembrance of the victims. Hopefully this will set a precedence for how all Presidents should act after any future massacres. He also gave a speech.
US Flag Code: "by order of the President, the flag shall be flown at half-staff upon the death of principal figures of the United States Government and the Governor of a State, territory, or possesion, as a mark of respect to their memory. In the event of the death of other officials or foreign dignitaries, the flag is to be displayed at half-staff according to Presidential orders, or in accordance with recognized customs or practices not inconsistent with law.” Missouri county apparently defied the presidential order ....
That cop-out annoys me as well. They werent responsible for their actions? Why not just call them losers
I don't think Hotwater is arguing that the murderer isn't responsible for his actions. Just that the guy had his own fucked up mindset rather than indoctrination by others was the main cause here. People don't like to consider the option that some guy killing 50 others could be completely sane. But if he was sane he definitely had a rather different minset than his average fellow citizen otherwise he would have never acted upon the dubious thoughts that made him do this.
A Butterfly Garden has been planted in memory of the victims, along a median space. They already have had butterflies visiting! http://www.orlandosentinel.com/news/pulse-orlando-nightclub-shooting/os-orlando-nightclub-shooting-corrine-memorial-20160619-story.html
The lyrics are so incredible to me. "Everybody's got a Pulse", I interpret that differently every time I hear the song. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LsKbk4A1FWo
Another band of Angels formed to protect Orlando! http://www.thegailygrind.com/2016/06/18/thousands-of-angels-form-human-wall-of-love-to-counter-westboros-funeral-protest/
Yeah Disney definitely can afford to help out. They've actually always been pretty supportive of the gay community And employ many as well as allow a "Gay Days" celebration there. As for us hippie's, well they usually don't give Anyone to much grief. Honestly, for years my friends and I "played" out there at all their parks but, obviously anyone that starts to act overly out of it is going to be escorted out. This tragedy has affected everyone in some way and at least to me there's a visible sense of loss....
