I couldn't give a rat's arse if we are in our out. I'll leave the worrying to the people who get paid to worry. I, along with my friends who work in the NHS and teaching voted out. No way do I see myself as an idiot or a ****. All politicians are murderers and liars. Power to the People.
Ain't happening. Trump got a load of flak on twitter over this. People were pointing out that he is a complete moron for not knowing that the whole of Scotland voted remain.
it is now unthinkable to call our country the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, the only thing that we now share are the currency, it would be therefore more fitting to call ourselves Poundland from now on.
Did Johnson convince you you're not sheep now? :-D The future will tell that it was a sheepish decision. It will not benefit the UK or the majority of its people.
You're quick to call other people sheep because of their choice. Maybe their decision was theirs alone too? And I am not saying I can see into the future. I say future will tell which decision was the most sheepish. If your decision was taken for reasons that will prove false or wrong (but were advertised by the pro brexit front and have misled a lot of people) it is arguable which one was, huh?
The sheep Thing Was in Response To Being Called a **** ( thought You might Have Realized that ) The future will tell that it was a sheepish decision. It will not benefit the UK or the majority of its people. Sounds To me like Someone That Thinks They Can See into the Future To Me !
Now why would they want Turkey to be an EU member? Especially after Turkish police fired tear gas and arrested 19 people at a gay pride rally. https://news.vice.com/article/turkey-istanbul-gay-pride-parade-riot-police-tear-gas?utm_source=vicenewsfb
Ok, they join the no visa travel, they will now start the race to be in the UK, and Europe, that is what I meant. Am I wrong? Nope. I was talking to my neighbour day before voting, lovely couple, with a young baby, she is looking forward to her mum and sisters joining them, now they don't need visas, they were too expensive, lots of Turkish people have their bags packed ready...her words, not mine!
Delete the words “act like” and substitute “think that” and I am with you entirely: what you describe is precisely what we got out of, and it is beyond me why supposed liberal thought fails to recognize this. I am a proper Social Democrat, and belong to the SDP. I am a proud Socialist, unlike, clearly, most Labour MPs, who evidently want us to be dominated by an unelected, unaccountable, and unBritish bureaucracy. I find this hard to believe and difficult to stomach. I also find it dreadful that a Labour leader, elected less than a year ago by an overwhelming majority of Labour members and affiliates, should be facing a leadership challenge by a nonentity like Angela Eagle. What a dreadfully disloyal, opportunist, unrepresentative, careerist, backstabber she is. According to “The Independent”: “Eagle voted against stronger regulations on fracking in national parks and world heritage sites. She voted for the invasion of Iraq in 2003 and repeatedly voted against various proposals for investigations into the war in 2003, 2006, and 2007. She voted in favour of bombing Syria in 2015. Eagle was one of the MPs who did not vote against Conservative welfare cuts during Labour’s 2015 leadership contest [and] supported the introduction of tuition fees under Tony Blair and [their rise] to £3,000 in 2004. Eagle consistently voted in favour of ID cards and in favour of snooping law requiring the mass retention of communications data. She also supported the Blair government’s plan to detain people for 90 days without charge. [She] generally backs Trident and has consistently voted against motions calling for it to be scrapped.” A true “Blair Babe” if ever there was one. I thought the era of Blairism was over. It certainly should be, post-Chilcot, She is a disgrace and should be ashamed of what she is trying to do: subvert her democratically-elected leader and revert to the authoritarian, rightist regime which Blair imposed on the Labour Party and all of us. Labour Party electors: stop this person now!
What I found frustrating was the lack-lustre campaign that the remain team made. Based on an arrogance of belief that the numbers were sufficient to succeed their inability to get the message across was akin to incompetence. The consequences of potential UK break-up, Visa necessity for 'Summer jobs, Trade agreement re-negotiation were not placed highly enough on the agenda with the required educational awareness Whilst wishing to remain in the EU - (for the protective sake of workers rights and Health and safety I do believe will be affected) One has a vote for a reason - the agreement was that we should be respectful and pursue the choice which was made - and comply with it. Brexit was the choice made, and now we have to live with it - not moan about it/want a second referendum (because the vote didn't go the way some people thought it would/should) - Wilson's Government of 1970 had to swallow a similar pill (= lessons from history)
