Normany landing was the most awesome thing ever put on film, but then it turned into this stupid fuzzy hallmark save one schmuck storyline

If he had done it like they did in Band of Brothers, follow one platoon, one company from Normandy through to, well Birkenau, with a feature film budget, It would have been an awesome friggin movie, a movie btw, I am still waiting for

Saving Private Ryan is like a three course meal where you have entree at a 5 star restaurant, but then have Main and dessert at McDonalds

The Pianist does a better job at capturing that dread of WWII, Fury as well

Hacksaw Ridge was pretty awesome and also better all round than SPR

 

Yeah, I grew up hearing about it, took me till my 20s to watch it, then I was like WTF? Rosebud is his snow sled when he was a kid, stoopid

 

So we watched a bunch of stuff from the 60's. And I just have to say this.

Clint Eastwood and Steve McQueen are awesome!

The Great Escape and Papillon were so cool.

Then we watched the Dollars trilogy and those were super cool.
