Hey hey I thought she did a wonderful job for her first bake. It's important that we offer her support and courage. And the #24 is Jeff Gordon of course. And our house guest has already said if you flip the reindeer you get women with boobs.
They actually remind me of things I'd most likely find painted on Native American cave walls hehe. Or. http://m.imgur.com/lLxCoWM?r
I awoke to aroma of cinnamon. So I went out and I saw the tray of undecorated ginger bread. I had a small piece and it was awesome.
I'm hooked on these Egg McMuffin thingies. For today's breakfast I topped the egg with tomato, apple smoked cheese and used a wasabi mayo I made. The mayo made the sandwich. For dinner I made a veggie pizza. I added garlic powder and a few herbs to the dough, it gave the saltless crust more flavour. Topped with fermented hot yellow peppers after the pizza was cooked. Gotta have the hot peppers.
Pork belly before cooking. Asian 5 spice & a wee bit of salt. My extra special dish for Xmas lunch. Actually there about 1.5 tablespoon salt getting that skin to dry and crackle.
I made 10 lbs of potato salad last night; 4 boxes of brownies this morning, and I'm getting ready to go make a shit-ton of sugar cookies.
My potato salad is also done. I need potato salad to be really cold so I make early and fridge in a big stainless steel bowl to make it real cold.
Some chicken noodle soup! it was good, too! I also heated up some casserole that my mom made. That was pretty good. I ate a whole bunch today. lol Gonna have to spend a little time at the gym come Monday...
Food was awesome. My pork even stopped a friend as he spoke like stopped him in his words to appreciate how good it was then he forgotten what he was saying. This made me happy and I forgot to take photos of the lunch but I got a small photo of what was left of the pork before we ate that too.
I made zucchini frittata and fried pears over the holidays. They were a hit, especially the pears. Seems not too many people have made pears this way (must be Spiff's invention), but everyone loved them. They're so easy to make too. I also made turkey soup with the Christmas turkey carcass, it was so flavourful. And a pot of vegetable soup the day after. For this dang cold. I've been hit with bronchitis and tonsillitis. Someone up there is just plain mean.
Thanks. It's actually horseradish, not real wasabi, which is what North American wasabi usually is (with green food colouring). It was good, but next time I'll use fresh horseradish which I didn't have at the time. I used a prepared horseradish and there was too much vinegar or whatever acid they used in the preparation. It was a bit too sour, and not spicy enough for my taste.
chicken fillets were on sale so i used some to make my favourite stir fry...enough to last a few meals ..chicken with chopped celery, water chesnuts, and peanuts..added a bunch of large shrimp and various spices like chicken bouillion, mrs dash and some curry with the rest of the fillets i wrapped them in bacon and stuck in the freezer for eating on another day
I made eggs over easy for breakfast. I'm avoiding dairy because of this congestion so I used olive oil to fry them in and I loved the flavour it gave the eggs. They were also softer. Or maybe smoother. Nice consistency, anyway. I had the last of the seven grain seed bread with them. I made more of the bread today. I put in both pumpkin seeds and sunflower seeds and instead of walnuts I used pecans. It was great. I also made a loaf of caraway rye bread.
Roast chicken for dinner. I put fresh sage leaves and garlic slivers under the skin and put the same with thyme sprigs in the cavity (no stuffing). It tasted sooo good. When you bit into a piece of the sliced breast with the skin on it with the sage, it all just melted in your mouth. I threw in potatoes and carrots to roast along with the chicken. I love roasted carrots. And served. And a quick dessert of raspberry jam on the caraway bread I made, with fresh strawberries.
