Kieron rings me nearly everyday from the army which pleases me a lot to know he is alrite... He told me something which he was told not to tell anyone because its kinda breaking the law accoarding to the Army forms etc he had to fill in... About four times a week, sometimes more, two Seargents will get hold of one of the recruits (this has happened in his dorm and elsewhere) and beat the living shit out of them! seriously, this isnt a joke at all, they beat the recruits up when they feel like it.... anyways for those interested, Kieron is in there for four years and comes home every once in a while. It must be horrible, ive sent him paracetamol because he wakes up every morning with a headache, I wish he hadnt have joined, I really do , I just hope he doesnt come out a nut case or anything like a lot of people do.... hes already had two serious tellings off, I just hope they dont hurt him! Anyway, I get to see him for two days before I leave for faslane, hes only home for four days but at least its a break for him. Ive done as much as I can to keep him out of that darn place, ive begged like crazy. The thing that worries me is that he was telling me the other night how he has no friends there
MAN!!:O thats really really bad! you sound like your a damn good friend to him. So does he actually want to be in the army or does he want out? are you allowed to leave anytime your want or do you have to stick it out once youve joined??
I think it's stupid if you can't leave when you want. >.< Poor guy, I feel really sorry for him and hope he doesn't get hurt!
By the looks of it hes gotta be in for four years now, and he cant just leave...i suppose hes too scared to bring it up after the shit hes seen. Sometimes hes telling me he loves it, other times hes telling me he hates it. This guy came to 2 very good summer gatherings with me and had the time of his life, i just dunno what he wants anymore:S
it shocks me to hear that, and i'm sorry he went...at one point i thought he had his mind made up the other way that just sounds so awful. keep being that amazing friend to him dude, sounds like he needs it.
The thing is, it's not as if no-one warned him right? If I had chosen to do something and all my friends and a whole forum were telling me not to do it; it might start ringing bells. I know he changed his mind at the end but by then it was too late. I hate the army with a passion. I wouldn't wish that way of life on anyone, but surely it's widely known that the army teach people how to kill - does that sound healthy? Is that going to be a pleasant place to be in for 4 years? Harsh as it is, I have very little sympathy.......
No!!!! You mean the British army isn't honourable and peaceful?!?! You mean that people who make their living out of violence are.... ummm... violent?!? I'm shocked. Shit dude, you never been to the movies? Violence in the army isn't exactly a state secret anymore!
well... you have certain time spans to duck out with the army.. speaking to him prior to joining.... i think it is what he wanted all along... he decided himself that he wanted to stay past the 6 weeks... he's an army boy now .... 4 years yeh .... lets hope all these rumours about Iran etc etc are wrong... I gather though that he's still in the basic training stage? If so, surely he must be allowed to leave at that point.
