Ok, I was feeling kind of sorry for Trump and his low turn out inauguration.....I am sure he just wants to be loved like anyone,.....such the empath I am....but after reading some of the comments around here, my fire is back again. Silly me!

What really sucks for "old white guys" is how hated they are as a demographic when most of them were babies during the civil rights struggles. They have become an icon for hatred, even though they have no connection at all to that except that they LOOK like old picture of the klan and lynchings and such. It's hatred that has been passed down through generations, artificially. Will "old white men" still be hated in a decade for things that happened in the 1950s? Racism sucks in any direction.

 

I just read that Andrew Wakefield, formerly Doctor Andrew Wakefield, attended one of Trump's inaugural balls. For those that don't recognize the name, he is widely regarded as the idiot that got the anti-vax movement going. He lost his medical license because he produced a fraudulent study that kicked off global suspicions about the safe medical products that are used to wipe out diseases. He now makes a living producing books, articles, interviews, and documentaries that introduce doubts as to the safety and efficacy of vaccines.

I have a friend who worked on Bernie's campaign. I knew he was going to run and I was for him all the way. But when he lost to Hillary I thought better her than Trump, and I voted for her. I spent the whole election night in a gay bar watching the news coverage surrounded by hundreds of Democrats and even now I'm still stunned that Trump seems to be so unpopular and yet he still won.

You have to realize how many people don't vote. It makes more sense then.
They're partly responsible for the fact Trump got the most votes.

 

id argue that trying to get the media to stop throwing out lies for sensationalism should be a government priority

in fact they should make some laws about that...

 

The media is slowly catching on that in the Trump administration they must all adopt Fox News' approach of Professional Wrestling smack talk if they are to survive the ratings wars.

 

kind of funny that the media used trump to make much money and now he is cracking down on them.

kind of like the music industry pushes for new formats like cd and mp3 to resell records and tapes that people already purchased but now it is causing their downfall.

 

Trump is a huge Professional Wrestling fan and knows exactly how to play his part as the underdog fighting the good fight against the media and the establishment. He got elected, in part, due to the fact the American people are so dumb they themselves insisted on money running everything including the government and mass media and all he ever has to say is everything is lies and fake news. The less the public trusts anybody, including their own government and media, the more chance someone like Trump has to worm his way into whatever he wants to do. Its a conservative strategy of divide and conquer that Republicans are all too familiar with, but that's why his election is pissing the party members off because he is using it against them. He is the next evolution of talk radio, Fox News, and the Tea Party attempting to be the tail wagging the dog and forcing the republican party to follow their lead. The opportunist who takes advantage of all of them and helps to drive the entire party down the drain because instant karma is always gonna getcha!

Sorry, christians used to burn people like me at the stake for speaking against their dogma, so I'm not too fond of them. No problem in following the words of Jesus and looking for insight in the words of their book, but to follow it entirely without question is very dangerous.

And i wasn't saying you're a Christian, just noting that even with all the religious freedom in the US, that one particular religion is forced down the throats of a large portion of our citizens.


And as for the middle east, the fighting wasn't as intense until the cold war era. The US and Russia both used smaller, less developed countries to fight each other. Its what happened with Vietnam, the Soviet-Afghan war, the Korean War, and so on.
