We would not have known about the EPA shut down, gag order- had it not been from someone who worked in the EPA leaking it....Trump wanted them closed down behind our backs. Just look at Oklahoma...now a big earthquake state due to fracking....Pruitt shut the EPA down there and got rid of them....so they could not interfere with the fracking in any way.....by talking out....
This is dangerous times....fascism has taken office....and I am shocked that some people still think that this is ok.

Yeah i'm still getting, "but hillary would have been worse!" from some people when I criticize Trump.

Meanwhile, organizations are forming now to completely reseat establishment Democrats in Congress in 2018 with more progressive Democrats who won't take money from super PACS - see Justice Democrats

What is anyone doing to improve the Republican party? Nada that I can see.

    In the worst way possible

Actually, watching his inaugural address I had the sensation that I was watching something historical - but not in a good way. It was a horrible feeling.

American foreign policy in general is to destablize the Middle East. Doesnt really change with Democrats or Republicans in power

The first true test of how he plans to treat the American people will be how he responds to Standing Rock protestors

I heard all the bad things he has done and I know he will push this through it is really the worst thing I think he will do. There is never a reason to destroy sacred ground.

Trump is building the wall! He's signing the executive order today to start construction. Folks who live along the border are skeptical that it will do much good in keeping people out. It's also expected to be kinda pricey--an estimated $15 billion to $25 billion. But it will be an important symbol of what our country now stands for: exclusion. (Trump also is slated to sign an executive order temporarily banning refugees and suspending visas for citizens from seven Middle Eastern countries.) And who will pay for the boondoggle? You and I and the rest of the American taxpayers will, initially. Trump of course says Mexico will eventually. Until lately I thought this was unlikely, but now I understand. Alternative facts!

I cannot fathom living there, fighting this desecration of their land....having their land basically taken from them, along with burial sites.

    My God,

Now today..as in this very day I have read that he has signed for this to go through.

    oh my

edit: this Dakota Pipeline. Am I wrong?

You lot can put giant 5 storey images of Trump on the wall, on both sides, to make America great again, with maybe a hammer and sickle in the top corner

    Ugh.

I was just discussing Planned Parenthood with a Trump supporter the other day, a family member actually. I told them (because they were pressing me, it was actually a horrible discussion that took up way too much time in my day lol) why I think PP should receive federal funding and why I think reproductive health services and free/cheap and easy access to birth control saves taxpayers money in the long run

and it boiled down to the same simplistic argument from them that you hear parroted over and over.."i'm not comfortable with people using my tax money for free stuff."

and I made a sarcastic point that we all have different preferences on where our money should go, I don't want to bomb children in Yemen for example.

and isn't this just exactly the point I was trying to make.. why would anyone want to pay for a useless wall? I don't understand people who are fine with wasting money on frivolous bullshit like this that won't actually do anything except stroke Trump's ego

and yet they don't want their precious tax money to go towards services that actually help people

There is just some serious cognitive dissonance in this country.

I really feel sorry for democrats these days. Their greatest leaders are Bernie, Pelosi and Killary. Their people's only message is riot, destroy property, block roadways, scream vulgarities and protest without a message. With every demonstration they add to the republican party more voters. The loss for them in this last election was historic and it's only going to get worse as they continue to embarrass themselves with more of these senseless acts. I don't remember any instances of this when obama was elected twice yet we've now witnessed a couple months of non-stop whining, kicking, screaming and crybaby blues. This can't be good for their party but it's bringing those with common sense over in droves.

Democrats lost seats at the Federal, State, Municipal and local levels at an historic rate to the republicans.

you don't remember any instances of ...what, exactly during the Obama administration? People bitching, crying, whining, kicking, screaming? LOL were you asleep?!!? People HATED Obama and were very vocal about it. I mean, as I was saying about cognitive dissonance.... I just don't understand how people can say shit like that with a straight face.

Or you don't remember protests? I tried to post some pictures since you were napping but "you are not allowed to use that extension on this community" and I can't be bothered anymore. google Obama protests. It really isn't difficult.
